I just got the standard i7 15" for $2200, -$200 with educational discount. I've had it since... 3pm, and love it. :D

Hands up if u just bought the new MBP

*raises hand*

After waiting since November to get a MBP, but decided not to cos they were mid cycle. In those months of waiting I managed to save a bit more for the more expensive model.

Late last night, i purchase an i7 15" High Res with 500gb 7200.
Sooooo ****ing stoked. A lot of people seem to be whinging about the price and costs, and to be honest, i copped a bit when i told my student friends i just spent $2800 (australian $) on my first macbook pro.

I use to be a hater too but i decided to convert cos i will mainly be using it for music production, remixing and editing and pretty much everyone in the music industry uses mac.

In my opinion, i dont mind paying the extra $400 or whatever for a beatiful, stylish unibody, thin-ness, massive trackpad (others are so ****ing small it ***** me!), OSX which i cant wait to use & reliability.

Just wanted to get that off my chest, but anywho.

Who else got a new one and is stoked? >=D

I'm wanting a 17" I'm just not sure whether I should try buy the older vers or current... Dunno if I will see a big performance difference when using it for Photography and heavy graphic design and web design / development?

Yessssss.... Today i replaced my 2003 13 inch iBook G4 with a 15 inch i7 MacBook Pro. In other words, a Geekbench score of 508 vs 6282. I am sooooo impressed by this thing.

I had the money put aside in November, but figured an update would be just around the corner, and held out. At first, I was checking MacRumors every weekend. Since the iPad event in January, I've been an everyday visitor. Soooo glad the wait is over.

I ordered a 13" MacBook Pro and an iPad. I will also be ordering an ordinary white MacBook as soon as they are updated.

Basically, my family buys one of each new 13" machine (not counting the air) as they are released. That way our machines don't become outdated all at the same time.

I noticed some people went for the 8GB RAM upgrade. Isn't this a very expensive way of adding RAM? Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the base RAM and add your own later?

I've been waiting for 5 months as well and immediately went to a reseller yesterday.
Placed a BTO for my first Mac: 17 inch i7 (Anti-glare).

Ordered the Macbook Pro 13.3-inch/2.4GHz/2x2GB/250GB/SD yesterday.

Wanted an SSD so instead of paying $800.00 ($650.00 if you bought the 15 or 17 inch) for an Apple brand SSD, I got a deal on a Crucial 256GB RealSSD C300 for $644.99.

Yep, typing on my new i7 15" right now. Opted for the upgrade to 8GB of ram. This thing is soooweet. Very happy that I waited.

Been using the machine in this session for about an hour and the bottom of it is barely warm. Arrandales are the shizznit.

My hand is up!

After installing all the software my new MBPro 15" is barely warm in comparison to my other 15"

Nice hardware to be sure!

Also, kudos to the Apple people who took my 3 day old MBPro back and traded for the new one without any restocking fee!

Waiting for my Core i5 2.4Ghz 15" to ship!

Very little actual performance difference between the models (i7 is all marketing hype) so I went for the best bang for buck!

Can't wait!

2 weeeks!!!

Hi I just oreder my Macbbok pro 15" i7!!

With High res screen /glossy
and 7200 rpm hardrive

2 weeks until delivery!!!!!

Yep, purchased a 15" with the high-res screen. Can't wait for it to arrive!!! These things take a while to transport to NZ - was hoping for the weekend, but looks like next week :(

Still very cool to finally be on the way.

Ordered the 17" i7 500/7200 8gb RAM, HR Glossy. Big bucks but I've made my beloved PowerBook last 6 years. Now update the Mac Pro! ;)

*hands up*

I've been waiting since November of last year for the update so I could get rid of my ageing MacBook. I'm now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new 17-inch MacBook Pro. Expected delivery date of 19th-23rd of April. I'm so excited :D:D

I noticed some people went for the 8GB RAM upgrade. Isn't this a very expensive way of adding RAM? Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the base RAM and add your own later?

Used to be very expensive, I've always ordered RAM from other sources after buying with standard RAM.

Now, however, Apples prices are quite OK, so I ordered with 8 too.

17", i7, 8gb, 500gb7200, matte.
