Been wanting a MacBook Air but have had a hard time pulling the trigger on one as budgets won't really allow the 8GB ram upgrade I'd prefer. Just purchased a refurb early 2011 MacBook Pro 13 for $799....will be able to add 8gb of ram and a SSD and keep the price under $1000....I'm happy!

I ordered a 15 rmbp Friday from apple. I took the 101€ discount they were offering. Should be here early this week as it had a 1-3 day delivery. I was waiting for a 21 iMac at my office but got tired of waiting. I'm sure the iMac will be out this week but who knows how long until its free in Germany.

We still don't have the iPad w cellular so like that I don't want to wait a month after it comes to the US.

Order my first Macbook Pro from Amazon today for $962. I won't get it until next friday because I went with the free shipping :(. Oh well.

I bought mine on Thursday from Amazon for $1035 and got the price adjusted to $962 on Friday. Will be getting mine on Tuesday. Can't wait to get it. :)

Ordered a 13" macbook pro from amazon, getting it today!!! Finally making the switch from pc to mac, so tired of crappy pc laptops...

i sended my 2.3 ghz with 256GB ssd back for and 2.6/512GB.
with bootcamp the 256 wasnt just not enough space..

WOOT!

Just bought my first Apple computer.

15" MacBook Pro with Retina display
2.6GHz i7
16GB RAM
256 Flash

So excited! I was deciding between this and waiting for the 27" iMac. I decided that I wanted the portability and I have a 25" monitor at home that I can always link it up to.

I just ordered the exact same spec. How long did it take for your rMBP to ship? I ordered it this afternoon, and it already went through processing and is at the "Preparing for Shipment" phase.

my mbp is here!!!

my 13" mbp and vertex 4 showed up today. 16gb of memory hasn't made it yet. I can't do anything with it yet as my boys have b.ball practices from 5-9  so I won't get to fire it up until tonight. I am excited and nervous as this is my first Mac...can't wait!!!!

Good luck with the Vertex...I was a big fan of OCZ until my Vertex 2 just blew last week after only 3 months...Now I have to pay return shipping to RMA it to them in California  Glad I went with Crucial...

Read about the other post what happens when you have to return you laptop (God forbid) after you have un-screwed it.

FIRST MAC, rMBP!

I recently bought my first mac as well, base model 15" Retina Macbook Pro!

I was going to order one with 16GB of ram but I couldn't wait :p and 8GB should be fine for what I do.So far loving it! Always had problems with past new windows laptops, especially Dell (terrible).

I'm a Mac and I'm never ever going back.

I've owned several Windows machines in the past that I've been marginally happy with but I've been a lover of Apple products ever since I got my first gen iPhone and I've always wanted a Macbook Pro I've know people that had them and absolutely loved them and would talk about how much better they are than PCs well I finally broke down and as of a couple days ago I'm the proud owner of a 2007 MacBook Pro!! even though it's a 2007 Macbook that was new to me but used by someone else, I bought it off eBay I know how risky buying a used Mac off eBay can be but the people I bought it from definitely seemed like they new what they were doing....anyway long story hopefully shorter, I now know what all the fuss is about I love my Mac and I know without a shadow of a doubt that from this moment forward the only laptops or desktops I buy will be Macs

so I guess the reason I started this thread is to formally introduce myself to the Mac community, and if anyone has tips of any kind I'd appreciate it.

My MBP from Amazon was schedule from tomorrow so I went to Best Buy today and played with a display model for like 30 minutes. When I got home it had arrived a day early. Awesome surprise.

I ordered mine on Black Friday (Nov 23) - 15" MBPr 2.7/16GB/768GB from Apple Store Canada (I'm in Alberta). I took advantage of the $101 Black Friday discount.

Now, I got got caught out a little with shipping times..
On the site it says 'available 1-3 business days' free shipping etc but I didn't realise it can take over a week or more to get it delivered.

If I had known this would have checked expedited shipping really - I'm upgrading from a 2006 MBP 15" Core Duo 2.0/2GB/500GB and have to install quite a few apps which will take some time to set up, check for updates and any potential problems…

Delivery is due to me around Dec 3-5.

In the meantime I've tracked my order and it seems to have been around the block more than a hooker on Sunset Strip!
Its gone from Shanghai to Canada, to the US, back to Canada, back to the US and back to Canada!
I even called Apple to see if this was normal and apparently it is.
I know some people have received CTO orders from Shanghai in a matter of days but alas...

I'm in BC, I didn't have the option to expedite when I ordered. Must be the time of the year. Says it should be here nov 11-15.

Just got my exchanged MacBook Pro "13" after I had a bit of bad luck. Coffee+ MacBook= bad. This is my first Mac I am so excited!

Received my brand new MacBook Pro Retina 15" yesterday! (the base model, BTO w/ 16 GB RAM)

Since the displays have been a bit controversial, I decided to check out the manufacturer. Not that it didn't matter at all at that point. It looked absolutely gorgeous and everything looked just fine, so it was just out of curiosity. It turned out it was a Samsung. :)

It took my laptop 8 days to ship from China to Sweden. Actually almost exactly 8 days if I count from the very first departure scan. The last day was spent on travelling across the country though, so I'd expect that time to be 7 days if I lived closer to an airport they use. :p
