Picked up mine yesterday. Originally ordered it on the phone using the government program and was informed it wasn't available for pickup but after I placed my order my Apple advisor told me that it just became available for pick up at My local Orland,IL store. So like any addict I jumped in the car and picked it up. Apparently I was the first one to rec'v the 15'4 and of course they wanted to see it so we loaded it up and we were all simply impressed by it.

Just called UPS and they said that this package won't ship on Saturday so screw it. I'm going to see the status tomorrow and if they won't be able to deliver it tomorrow then I'm just going to go pick it up myself.

I hope you get it tomorrow. I've gotten a Mac before where the tracking wasn't updated and it arrived without my expecting it.

Thanks! I hope the same for you. :)

I know I'm being unreasonable about the shipping estimate but I just can't rest until I finally have it!

Woop, my first mac and my first visit to an apple store. Pretty good experience - in and out in 10 mins, no upselling. I'm going to disguise this thing with a rubber permasleeve of some kind. Are "Speck" shells the way to go? er yeah I see there is a whole thread on this topic :)

Weird, I thought there was a direct China->California flight too, but maybe I was mistaken. Would be nice if the West Coast shipments got split up in Anchorage and flown down to their Ontario hub, though.

I think packages heading to west coast will go through the other route.

I must be the only person who has ordered but isn't waiting on knife's edge.

I actually have a lot of stuff to log with my old machine on FCP (old VHS tapes I'm transferring along with old Mini DV tapes) as I won't be getting the new version of FCP and I'm not sure if I can hook up my FW 400 camera (PD150) via a FW 800 adaptor into a TB adaptor.

If I can I think then I import via imovie (but I can't stand iMovie, such a terrible shame how they turned a perfectly intuitive program - imovie HD - into something that is so far removed from Apple's ethos)

fingers crossed! ;)
FYI, UPS doesn't allow customer pick-up at local warehouse on Saturday-Sunday. I wish you have a chance to get it by tomorrow.

Eh, screw it! That Verge review did me in. #YOLO and all that :p

What really sucks is the store right next to where I work actually had it in stock all day yesterday. I even went to the store and looked around to see if I could pull the trigger... and I just couldn't will myself.

But then I kept thinking about it. And yeah, the price bump sucks... "cheaper" my ass ;p But, really contemplating about it, I realize this is what I've always wanted. It's *finally* a seriously no-compromise laptop. Ridiculous screen. Ridiculous battery life. Amazing build quality. Lots of RAM. The fastest SSD you can get in a laptop. And 512GBs of it! It can game. It runs a brand new OS. I can throw Photoshop and Word and Steam and InDesign and whatever else I want on it, and it's not going to break a sweat. And all of it is in a super thin profile that weighs next to nothing.

The ONLY thing making me hesitate was the price.

But then that review hit from the Verge. I couldn't take it any more ;p

I have no clue. There's too many different airway that is using by UPS between Louisville and California. also, there're over 8 airport being used to transit!

Ah okay. Thanks. I'll just wait for the UPS website to update tomorrow. They said on the website where they were going before arriving in KY so maybe they will do that again.

If you're in SoCal, look for the flights going to Ontario. Your MBP will probably go by truck the rest of the way.

Not in SoCal. I'm in the Bay Area, but it's probably the same flight. When Apple was using FedEx, packages got here quicker for me, since they didn't have to go all the way to KY.

Ordered 13/2.8/16Gb/1Tb the day after the keynote, UK apple store.

My order has just gone to Preparing for Despatch :D:D:D

Does anyone know where in the process we can track UK orders? And how?
