I think BTO configs ship from china and they probably have base and maxed out options already in stock in US.

Thanks! That makes sense. Now I have a second conundrum....my UPS courier isn't supposed to arrive til Wed June 14 but there are now new MBPs stock @ the Apple Store. I really really want to play around with this this weekend. Do I go through the hassle of buying one at the store and then returning the one from the online store once it arrives? Ugh don't know what to do and I can wait the 5 extra days. Hahahaha

Okay guys/gals - do not do what I just did. I decided to buy the MBP in the store (and when the one I ordered online arrives, i'm going to return it in store for refund). I used the same VISA as I had previously to buy the MPB online. VISA declined my second transaction for "suspicious activity" and had frozen my account. I ended up buying the second MBP with my Mastercard and I had to call VISA to explain and for them to unfreeze my account. Hehehehehe

Ouch, I wished they'd stock the 16GB config :(

Just a tip for anyone ordering a new MacBook Pro from Apple... If you use Discover Deals and pay with your Discover card, you get 5% off via Discover Cash Back which is a decent discount considering the price of these computers.

Yup. Did that early this week

My base 15 just came today in Indiana. So far so good

Literally just picked it up. Got the stock hi config 15” and some cables. Had the original but return d it after reading rumors kaby lake was coming later in the year

Just pulled the trigger and am so excited! I ordered the 13" nTB MacBook Pro w/ 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor! It was either this configuration or the one with the 256GB SSD, and it wasn't easy to decide: the 256GB one is, of course, cheaper at the cost of potentially fighting for space later, where as the 512GB is more expensive, but will be PLENTY for what I intend to have on it. Since this is a computer I am going to be using for the next few years, I didn't want to potentially regret not having gotten the larger size -- and I'm glad I upped it, tbh.

Not gonna lie, I kinda wanna up the RAM to 16GB, but am starting to see no reason to. My main workstation at home (a custom built Windows PC) has 8GB installed, and I'm able to use that without any problems. Besides, I can always put more RAM in my desktop, anyway.

Not sure what I'm going to do with my MacBook Air now. With only 2GB of RAM, I feel it just doesn't perform well like it used to. Things slow down quickly, animations stutter, programs run out of memory... I don't think I could foist it on my family -- or anyone, for that matter -- knowing these problems plague it, lmao. Guess we'll see.

So ready for next weekend. Already ordered a case, screen protector, keyboard cover, AND a USB-A to USB-C dongle, too. Going to be ready to use this thing right when I get it! :D

I'm in Turkey and I ordered BTO nTB rMBP 13 w/16gigs of ram in 8th of June and it says it'll arrive between 12-17 July. Waiting game is hard with this one :(

I ordered the Space Gray, 3.1GHz/512GB/16GB on June 7th. Original delivery date estimation was June 16th to the 20th. Got my shipping notification from Apple today, it moved up to delivery on the 14th, but UPS says scheduled for delivery on the 13th. I hope UPS is correct, and that makes it MUCH earlier then I had been anticipating! Since placing my order, I've been all over Amazon, ordering hubs and dongles... I need help. haha

I'm in the same boat as you. What hugs/dongles did you order? I need so much with this! Hahaha

I decided to up the RAM to 16GB. Is it excessive? Probably. But I figured I'm already spending a lot to get this computer -- might as well just bump up the RAM like I did with the storage, lol.

New laptop has shipped. Should be here on Tuesday. All I need right now is a USB a to C adapter and a thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 adapter.

I'm surprised at how many people here have bought the non-touchbar MBPs. I'm excited for it as a new way of interacting with the computer.

I don't see myself using it all that much -- the most it'd do is just sit there and look pretty. I can't justify spending more for what would amount to less battery life for me.

Just my opinion, but I know those who want it will find good use cases for it. :)

I made sure I picked up USBC to Ethernet, USB 3 and HDMI out. That pretty much covers 95% of what I need, so I found some lower cost individual pieces instead of on expensive hub.
