And UPS no longer knows where they put my computer 🙃. Allegedly they are ”working diligently to locate it”. I have no time frame for how long they will take to “locate” it before deciding it is lost.

Sorry to hear that. Where is it getting shipped to? Mine shipped via Fedex and IIRC, a signature was required...

Florida. Everything else I have gotten from them has been shipped FedEx (which is far more reliable in my area) but of course UPS got this.

There is no signature required on this. I don’t know if that is an oversight or what.

Yeah, that is quite the bummer. Hoping things work out and you receive your computer soon!

Finally got my i9/32GB/5500M 8GB/1TB replacement, ordered from Jan 26. Was a long wait and so far so good. First thing i did was disinfect the entire computer with Lysol.

My laptop shipping status was “Departed Facility in SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND” on Tuesday and since then, nothing. Where is it? My life is so hard.

My laptop says the SAME thing. Departed Facility in Shanghai- China Mainland on Tuesday the same date as yours. I was wondering the same thing????

They are probably in the same shipping container. I hope everything is okay! 😛

Just picked up my base 16" MBP this morning from Apple store. Upgrading from mid 2012 non retina (750 gig HDD, DVD ROM, 8 GIG RAM) that has been a wonderful workhorse for 8 years.

The 2012 hasn't died, it has been a wonderful servant but needs must however it will be used for offline work going forwards whatever that may be.

Never had a Mac with both SSD and retina before. Cant wait to set it all up.

As an update to the above. I've fallen in love all over again.

We upgraded from the same model and I feel the same way. It was a wonderful computer for the past 7 years but I'm very much enjoying the retina display, speakers, and just general larger size.

I ordered the following beauty this past Saturday to replace my late 2012 iMac. I am now obsessively checking the order status (I already know it’s ridiculous to do so, but hey, I feel like a kid in the lead up to Christmas).

16-inch MacBook Pro - Space Grey

2.4GHz 8-core 9th-generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz
64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 memory
2TB SSD storage

Here it is Monday and NO CHANGE on the shipment of our laptops. I ordered mine Feb. 6th. Surely this week!!
Me too. Apple gave the estimated delivery date as today. My office mailroom even told me they had a box for me, but it was just some dumb bags I ordered from Amazon. :(

Oh My Goodness. Mine still says it is in China!!!! Maybe today I will get something. When did you order yours?
February 3. I got the shipping notification last Tuesday. It was stuck at the "Departed Facility in SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND" status until just this morning, then made it to Cincinnati -> Milwaukee -> out for delivery in Madison, WI in a few short hours.

That is encouraging . At least I have more confidence mine will be be coming shortly also. Thanks

So i’m finally going to replace my 2010 Macbook Pro with a new MacBook Pro 16” (very excited!!). I use it for basic stuff but normally have many tabs opened at same time, some medical 3D apps, several apps open at same time but nothing “heavy”. I don’t think i need the i9 but was wondering if i should upgrade graphics to 8gb because i would like to keep it for another 10 years.
What do you guys think?

Ha, yeah mine was delivered to my office, it is a work machine. It's a great machine, except I have an ongoing issue with iCloud Drive that Apple is not giving me any updates on. That kind of spoils the new computer experience, but other than that I'm loving the new laptop.

If you have the money to spend you may as well but I personally went with the 5500m 4GB and I think I will be covered. I plan on doing video more seriously but am not confident enough where I could rationalize the 8GB upgrade.
