Not sure how store pickup works on estimated times and if those ever slip to earlier dates, but when I ordered a BTO MBA shipped in 2022, my order email gave an estimate of 17-24 days. It delivered just 9 days after the order, significantly faster than the order email's estimate.
Yeah, what's weird is that the delivery date was July 2 but pickup was July 9. My store is literally a 15 minute drive from my house, so I'm not going to take that seriously.

When Apple says 3-5 day shipping, they mean business days right? Because I ordered a custom MBP on Thursday and it's been 5 days. So don't count Saturday or Sunday I guess.

Edit: It literally just switched to "Shipping To The Store" lol. I manifested it.

14" silver MacBook Pro with M3 Max 14 Core CPU, 30 Core GPU, 1TB storage and 36GB RAM, ordered from the Apple refurb store and will be here tomorrow.

I have been saving up for ages for a new computer, was dead set on the Studio as it is brilliant value, but as its processor is now 2 gens older and no update in sight, I went for the newer chip in a laptop. And after I thought about it I decided a laptop will be better for my use, it will be plugged into my 28" monitor but I use that for work 9 to 5, so getting a laptop means I can use it still during the day. I want to set up a second income stream trading in eBay. Or maybe doing affiliate links.

Pretty excited as it's my first new Apple computer (excluding my M1 iPad Pro) in over a decade!

after not having any computer in my household for 10 months and my iPad Pro not cutting it as a desktop replacement, purchased a 16" MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip with 12 core CPU and 18 core GPU, 18GB of ram and 512GB storage. Don't need anything more than that, best computer I have ever owned! Couldn't be happier!!

I just ordered the 14" MBP M3 Pro 36 GB 2 TB after my 2019 16" MBP display died. Went back and forth on whether I should just settle for an MBA M3 this time, but I couldn't commit to an Air as my primary computer since I do use Lightroom/Photoshop and edit in Final Cut Pro from time to time. Trading in my MBA M2 to get the price down a bit. My delivery date is August 8-12. How long does it usually take to ship BTO laptops? Do they tend to deliver earlier?

Oh wow, I thought I posted a question here a few days ago and was wondering why no one was responding, but I forgot to hit "post reply" lol

Anyway, I need some advice. I'm going to be upgrading my old Intel MBP soon because I'm going to be changing jobs, and I want to be able to connect to multiple monitors if I need to. I asked an Apple Store associate if the base M3 chip can connect to 2 monitors, and she said yes. She even double checked with a coworker to make sure. But I'm seeing information online that says I need at least M3 Pro to connect to 2 monitors.

So what's the truth? I don't want to spend more than I need to.
The base MBP M3 is currently only capable of supporting 1 additional monitor, but I read last night that the latest version of Sonoma fixes that issue.

Writing this on my 'new' MBP M1 Pro 16 inch which arrived yesterday! I got an open-box refurb from Woot. I have been doing more coding, and am now studying for a CS degree. I have had my MBP M1 Pro 14 inch since May 2022 and it is still running just perfectly. That's why I had the confidence to pick a nearly three-year old M1 Pro, and so far, it is a delight. I love having the bigger screen, more JavaScript etc. vertically is very helpful when writing/reviewing code. Plus it's gorgeous. Taking my MBP 14 to Best Buy today for trade-in. This should last me many years.

I upgraded from the M2 MBA to the M3 MBP after 6 months of having the Air. Man do I miss my Air

So did I, I had my M2 MBA for almost a year. But I really wanted the new MBP since the M1 days. Couldn’t find one open box or refurbished for the price I was willing to pay. Best Buy had a sell for the base model being $1299 instead of $1599 and I was all over it. So here I am lol

2TB is a wise move for long term use.

Ordered a Space Black 14" MBP M4 Pro 12/16 24GB 4TB. Delivery date of 11/19.

Trading in a Silver 14" MBP M1 Pro 32GB 4TB.

Several reasons - brighter display in certain situations; longer battery life in certain situations.

Space black color is not much of a consideration.

Clearly an odd use case, as I subscribe to (and download) episodes to a large number of podcasts, and since Catalina?, macOS requires podcasts to be downloaded on the internal drive (no more external drive).

Ordered the top trim 16” MBP M4 Max, 128GB memory, 4TB SSD with nano texture. First time in my life dropping this much coin on a Mac but it’ll last me 8-12 years and replace both a 2010 Mac Pro and 2012 MacBook Pro.

Slightly disappointed with no Wi-Fi 7 but it’s not a deal breaker. Wi-Fi 6E node is in my office so that should be plenty fast enough.

What does your workload look like? Is that not massively more machine than you need if you've been managing with the two listed Macs?

Obviously we can all spend our money on whatever we want, but that's a huuuuuuuge amount of money to drop on a laptop!

It’s a multi-faceted environment. Hi-res photos, 4K/8K video, audio/music, .NET web app development, plus running multiple virtual machines for various workloads and test environments. I also bought a Canon R5 Mark II earlier in the year and need the power to handle those 4K/8K videos.

Who knows, what I buy today may be the bare minimum requirements 8-12 years from now lol.

Fair enough. Just the disparity seemed weird!

What delivery date did they give you?
