Anyway to know if the new air will run the new eve online incarna?

I think it's better if you stop expecting a ultra portable none gaming laptop to play games. Unless you love playing it at choppy, slow and at ultra LOW settings.

yes i will buy the air. probably not the first day but as soon as i sell my current laptop.
The sad part is, i have a toshiba qosmio with 6gb ram, 2,4ghz core i5 (1st gen), and 1024mb nvidia 330m. oh well, also 500gb HDD.
From that i will go to probably 1,8ghz , 4gb ram, who knows intel's integrated graphics and a 128gb ssd...
seems like a downgrade but i think it's worth it. oh and from 15 inches to 13 or maybe 11, but probably 13. i went to the store today to check both out and i really liked the 13's size. it's an air anyway, the only reason to get a smaller one is if you don't have the money for the big one.

edit: Yo The Samurai! I just watched your gaming video like 10 minutes ago. Thank you.

I sold my notebook 2 weeks ago in anticipation for the new MBA to be released 1 week ago. When is it coming out?

Just tried one out in store...with the new processors I am totally getting one. I thought I would prefer the MBP but the air is so much sleeker and lighter.

You may be waiting up to a month or so...bsed on rumors..

Nobody knows for sure, but I'm guessing you'll be without for at least a few weeks.

I would like to replace my late 08 MacBook Air with one.

I'm hoping for Core i7 1.8Ghz (2677M), 4GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD.

Definately if it has 4gb ram standard, or at least standard on the ultimate since I'm getting it at futureshop. $500 gift card trumps $50 discount and $100 itunes card. I'm really hoping they surprise everyone and release it this tuesday. Probably won't happen, but you can hope.

Could you please explain the five hundred dollar gift card?

Thanks

I currently have a $500 futureshop gift card. My grandparents redeemed some airmiles to get the gift card to get a tv, but they apparently don't need one now, so i can use the gift card toward a laptop for university.

So I would like to get the new air at futureshop and save $500, which is why I hope there's 4gb ram standard on at least the ultimate.

I'm really hoping for an SD card slot in the 11" and SSD bumps throughout the range. At these prices, it's painful to have such limited storage-especially the 64 and 128 GB.

It all depends on what graphics card is in the 11". That'll be the decisive factor about whether to put my current one on eBay or not. If it comes with Thunderbolt, a vastly superior processor (which it will), and even a bigger SSD (which it probably won't), it's still a "no go" without a BETTER graphics card than the one I have now. If it's Intel 3000 HD, I'm waiting for Ivy Bridge for sure. All or nothing. It's got to be the complete package.

I'm really curious... why? Just for more screen real estate? They'd likely have the same resolution as the 15" MBP... but with a whole lot less power. I'm just not sure why I'd ever want a 15" MacBook Air...

More space for larger battery and maybe a dedicated GPU.

what do people think the specs for the base 13inch will be? contemplating buying it or the MBP but am thinking i dont need the dvd drive and the SSD looks attractive but the upgrade option on the MBP is too expensive

Will the CPU/Ram be comparable to the current MBPs for roughly the same price as the current 13inch airs?

Yes, I will buy it the first day it comes and I am not on vacation during that time. 13 inch base (if its the same price as the 13 inch base is now). Mainly due to the fact that I don't want to find out a new macbook air is coming out a week later.

Not only will I buy the 13" MBA with 4 gigs of RAM this first day...

It will be my first Mac and my first laptop :)

My current computer is a 5 year old 1.8ghz Core 2 Duo desktop that has served me well (and will continue to serve me when I play games. It has an old processor but a great graphics card. It can play Starcraft 2 and Portal 2 on high easily)

Congrats man, you won't regret your choice. Once I went Mac I never went back.
