The iMac is amazing!

It’s just a bit too small. 27” would be more like it. I can’t be the first to think they should make an iMac Neo. With desktop cooling the A series chip would be pretty fast. And I’d agree with others about bring back target display mode. I’ve got a couple of lovely iMac paperweights in the loft that would still be in use if they supported target display.

The iMac could be amazing, but I refrain to buy one since seeing online frequent complaints of people who have their iMac screen developing bands and other glitches on the display after about 2 years after purchase. The iMac has simply lesser build quality and specs, it's a shame and Apple should revert to the past when the iMac was the flagship computer.

A few years ago, I bought one of the last generation of 27" iMacs with the 5K panel used off of fleebay for a few hundred dollars, gutted it and replaced the logic board with a customized display driver board that turned it into a dumb – gorgeous and dumb - 5K monitor that I paired with an M2 Pro Mac Mini. I am in the cohort of those for whom the 24" is too small but would have bought an Apple Silicon 27" iMac in a heartbeat, if Apple would have ever made it.

However, now that I have this 27" iMac turned 5K monitor, as long as it lasts and retains it's performance and quality, I'll continue benefitting from both Apple Silicon Macs and the screen real estate of this beautiful display for the foreseeable future.

iMac customers are tasteful. We like color that fits into our interior. We love the 24" screen size. It's perfect for what we need. 4.5k resolution?! Are you kidding me?! That's amazing! Remember the days of 15" screens on our iMacs and how we thought those were huge? Absolutely amazing how far we've come.

And the M4 chip is blazing fast. It's essentially a supercomputer chip in a chassis thinner than a lot of laptops. Studio quality speakers that blast music so loud that my neighbors all hate me. But thats ok. Because I have an iMac. And the iMac is the ultimate companion. It does everything I ask for and just looks so dang good doing it.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

How DARE you insult four of my favorite colors! Black and grey are perfectly fine! I don't NEED colorful items. I don't NEED the best of the best, I don't NEED huge screens, so I don't feel the same way! I have a thick 2012 13" MBP /w Intel, and that thing does its job PERFECTLY! Plus, my Win10 Desktop also works perfectly fine in my favor!

The iMac is superior! 24" ultimate, professional grade, super resolution display. The loudest, highest quality speakers you can possibly fit in an all-in-one. Incredible design that makes women (and even some men) ready to commit to you. Colors that you just want to taste!

That 2012 MacBook Pro is great. For it's time!!! I think today's the day for you to go to the Apple store and check the new iMacs out!

If my MackBook works, It stays. No Apple Store for me. Neither the iMac, not replacing that Win10 desktop in a long while.

Seriously, I am not getting an iMac. Apple as a functional Laptop is fine to me, along with a perfectly functional Win10 PC. The iMac just doesn't fit in with what I need. Besides, how customizable and user-repairable is a modern iMac, really?

Overal iPads, iMacs and Apple TVs are devices that I have absolutely nothing against. I hate iPhones despite having only iPhones as my main devices, they are just bad in all terms (modern Android devices are no better either)

I mean, there is also OCLP, if you don't mind. Otherwise stick with the old macOS if it still suits you!

I have two 28” 4k monitors, and am constantly surprised to find myself wishing they were smaller! If they were even larger I’d get a neck ache! Or I’d just confine my use of the screen to the most easily viewable sector.

It’s such a strange concept, realising this after decades of wanting bigger screens. Maybe I’m just getting old.

While I can understand some who like the iMac, I prefer having a laptop or a headless desktop Mac for regular use. But with that said, I've been impressed with the Apple Silicon iMacs.

When my college's video editing lab got these M3 iMacs early last year (each with 24 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD), I had students telling me they love how they're so much faster than the mid-2017 Retina 21.5" iMacs they replaced (3.4 Ghz Intel quad-core i5 processors, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSDs, and AMD Radeon Pro 560 GPUs with 4 GB dedicated VRAM). We did strap a Belkin USB-C hub to each one for anyone who needs to use USB-A devices and import from SD cards. The teacher's station has a somewhat bigger Thunderbolt 3 hub strapped to the back.

I completely love mine. Programmer but still using the M1 iMac on the daily. Thought I would have upgraded once or twice by now. Very pleased.

I will try it one day but currently a bit of tired of tinkering and just want it to work as is🙂 As well as I’ve ran out of spare SSD drives to try this stuff
