Don't you think its odd for them to release a new macOS and watchOS beta 2 days before releasing to the public? If they were GMs sure, I would agree with you, but because at a minimum watchOS is still a beta build, I just think its odd. Apple has never done that in the history of iOS/watchOS. So there is no precedent for it. Why wouldn't they just wait the 2 days to drop the final? Not like there was a massive critical bug that needed to be fixed. Or, give the developers the GM 2 days before the final. It just doesn't add up.

why release iTunes 12.6 if iOS 10.3 is not ready?

Why not? There are plenty of people running 10.3 DP/PB.

I think finals for all will be released Monday, but we may get one more iOS beta to remove beta build numbers. Thats the most logical IMO.

I remember them cutting down on build number for the release (i.e. going from 14E5277a to 14E277 on release without a new version). Also a lot of times builds that seemed like GM didn't went to public. I don't remember exactly when this was, but it's certainly a possibility. Maybe someone remember? There's no need for an updated GM.

I think this is what we're going to see, esp if Beta 7 has no significant issues. Wasn't the implementation of 10.0 (actually 10.0.1, right?) done this way?

I can't remember, but it was done before in iOS 10. We also saw no synchronization between iOS and macOS releases before, not a lot of times. I wouldn't mind another beta and a release on Monday.

They would need to update the build number by one character to get DP/PB up to final release. They can just remove the '5' and 'a' and release it to the public and leave developers on the beta build version. That hasn't happened. No matter what it would have to be updated by one number to 14E278.

No. There was no 10.0 released to the public (only a few iPhones got it from the manufacturer). The GM of 10.0.1 was an actually GM release and then it was released to the public. But the build changed from the last beta of 10.0 to the GM.

10.0 Beta 8: 14A5346a
10.0.1 GM: 14A403

Yes. You're right in that they'll need to up by at least one number. Why that can't happen? Being essentially the same code, but with another build number. I say this just for the sake of speculation because I'm not sure that it's going to be released today or this week...

I'm not saying it won't happen. I'm saying not this week. I predict it to happen Monday for public release and potentially for DP/PB getting it Friday to just make sure there are no major bugs.

Is it out? Did I miss it?? :p:D

Okay I will stop being an a**. But I predict beta 8 Friday, Final Monday. (All in good fun? :))
Maybe they skip beta 8 and release final on Monday/Tuesday ? The last betas were quite good if you believe the comments here (I haven't been using them)

I'm confident that the final is coming next week, probably Monday. But I think they may want to release a final beta as the GM just to make sure there are no last minute major bugs like install issues. Apple has been plagued with those over the last couple of years.

Agree, and they are introducing a new file system in a point update so let's give them the time to polish that.

If the final one is released next doesnt that mean beta testers get the final before the public if so should we get another beta GM or just final im confused?

In the majority of betas previous to 9.2, the final version was never seeded to developers first. Developers got the final beta, Apple made changes and then released to the public. Since 9.2 however, Apple has been releasing a 'GM' to developers before public. So if Apple follows the last 16 months, then we will see a GM build before the final. If they revert to pre-9.2, then we will see only a final.
