They do seem to have a reference to "redesigned invert colors", which could mean that they don't necessarily invert all colors or don't do it for images and videos and perhaps other things, meaning that it could be a bit more useful as some type of a dark mode in a sense when using apps that are mostly white. But, yeah, it's not dark mode in the sense of what dark mode could/should be like in iOS.
Yeah, it might be a step in the right direction for IPS displays, but true dark mode as everyone wants probably won't be a thing until OLED displays. Thats the only thing that makes sense and I will stand my ground on that.
