What do you think? Is it good? Better than the others?

The fact that it only have 7 rules is a real advantage? Or just marketing?
7 rules is a ********. They have 8Mb JSON fitted in the iOS app. It can't be neither fast nor not-sites-breaking with such over-bloat.

yep. it's ***** like you said.
We have a 1.75mb compressed file. Obviously we can't block everything, but we think it's the best compromise :)

In a van down by the river
Edit : Silly me, figured it out. Red is for beta apps from Testflight and blue is of course for recently updated apps.

Anyone know what are the dots for beside content blockers on the homescreen? Silentium has a red dot and Crystal has a blue dot.
Yellow and red dots next to an app signify the app is in beta status. Blue dots are apps that have been recently installed (directly from the app store or from back up) and haven't been opened yet.

BY the way any news on that purify update? Dev is just MiA like always. HE had and maybe has the best product but looses customers because of lack of comunication. Incredible

BlockBear has been discounted from $2.99 to $.99. Haven't seen a review for it yet.
Looks like it's getting harder and harder to sell premium adblockers with all the free competition.

The creator of Crystal has made a post on his site specifically addressing his new partnership with Eyeo and acceptable ads.

Crucially: “This will not be forced on anyone. It will be an entirely optional feature that will be described and presented clearly within the app before it is activated and that you can turn on/off at will. It will not be silently/secretly pushed out to everyone. I will to make sure that everyone is fully aware of how this feature works before it's enabled.”

Impossible!

After AdBlock Fast, i think paying for 'content blockers' is pure stupidity.

If you find any page breaking, just report to help@adblockfast.com

Let's support this great free and open-source app.

It's a nice app, but no options. I would say if you're looking for a set it and forget app, it's one to consider. If you want a more configurable content blocker, there are a few others to consider.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's stupid to buy content blockers. Just because some devs make theirs free to use doesn't mean all devs should create apps for free and work for nothing. However, I do feel that there are certain free adblockers that work as well or even better than the paid ones. I have literally stopped testing these content blockers after installing "Safari Blocker". It's the only adblocker on my phone now and I am quite happy with it.

Yes, you you like to config the rules then go to: Safari Blocker

AdMop, which is free, is improving daily.

I've sent the dev multiple reports of sites that needed adjustments and ads that needed to be blocked. He responds that he's on it and thanks you for the report. Then he emails you back to tell you it's completed and to download the latest rule set. I check the site to confirm and it's done. Extremely responsive developer.

I still prefer Silentium for how configurable it is, but the AdMop developer said his next release will have more features. Competition between all these apps is a good thing. :)

I've tried that app and it just doesn't fit into what I'm looking for in a content blocker. I'm not looking to write my own rules. That is not to say that it isn't a good blocker for others who appreciate that setup.

Here's my problem with Crystal. You can't charge on the front end and then push whitelisting by paying corporations. That goes against adblockers to begin with. It's the USER's choice what they see. Not what gives the dev the most money in their pocket.

So charging $1 up front, made $75k in what 2 weeks in the store, and now having corporations pay to be on a whitelist? Cmon that's slimy business.

I HIGHLY doubt it will be up to the user as claimed. Or else no one will turn it on and the corporations paid for nothing. I just dont trust this dev anymore.
