There is no way Apple is going to release new/updated iPads with iOS 11 just round the corner. I think we are looking at a release in October after iPhone 8. As much as I want one NOW!!

I really want this rumour to be true but...
The iPad Pro 12.9 is available for pickup in UK on May 12th - wouldn't they have to be the same for this to make any sense of a new launch? This must just mean that stocks are low right? No way they'd release a new iPad 4 days apart per region

In my area, Fort Worth, Tx, the ipp 12.9, wifi or wifi\cellular is available for pickup TODAY. BUT Silver color only, space gray and gold are available for pickup May 17 and 2-3 weeks shipment.

I am expecting an announcement at WWDC. What better place to discuss new hardware then a conference focusing on all the new enhancements of iOS 11 for the iPad. This used to be the Mac / OS X event, they are pushing the iPad as the future of computing, time to set the stage.

C'mon, you know how it works .... WWDC talks about all the features of the next OS, with the exception of the "killer" feature that's reserved for the latest iPhone and gets outed at the new iPhone launch in Sept/Oct.

I use the term killer loosely, as they've become less killer in the most recent years.

I just think it's about time that things changed. They need to really make a splash with iPad if they want to get it out of the shadow of iPhone.

Mine works great too, but I'm not used to keeping gadgets this long. Plus, I'm super excited for a new design with smaller bezels.
I honestly thought I'd keep it longer but at the time I didn't foresee the Pro iPad line becoming a thing nor the pencil. That and the other refinements to display, speakers, and performance make the Air 2 seem dated a lot quicker than we figured
I rather Apple refresh all iPad Pro models at same time, refreshing one model only at a time is quite awkward
i agreee but if they took that route I fear it could be till fall, I'm not sure the 10.5inch model is ready for prime time yet

I mean they probably will just replenish stock but I'm still gonna see what happens at WWDC, they might pull a "one more thing"

Whatever the case, I will wait. I would not be surprised if Apple does introduce hardware at WWDC as they have a LOT to cover for the Fall if they do not (iPhones, iPads, Mac(s)). My store had 9.7" iPPs late last week, but I want the 12.9" for a variety of reasons (if I see a 9.7" at a great discount I would get both though: current 9.7" and next gen 12.9".)

iOS 11 won't be available for non developers on a new iPad Pro until September, so it wouldn't be a typical Apple business practice to show features off, and introduce a product which may not come out for another 3-4 months after.

They will either refresh just the 12.9 in April/May, or wait to introduce both the 12.9 refresh and 10.5in along with the iPhone, or in October when iOS 11 is already public.

I forgot about that, fair point. Kinda stinks then, but it is what it is.

I live in CA, and the 12.9s are all in the store for pickup today.

Apple had a chance to update 12.9" when they announced the low price iPad. As I've said before...WWDC will be here soon enough, I have a feeling Apple will be doing some major changes with iOS 11.

So, with all those changes with iOS 11... there's going to be plenty of hardware to show off in the fall. From the iPhone, iPad Pro to the iMac.

No, we are NOT going through this again!! Shut down the thread!! We JUST went through this with the April 14th thread, so we are not starting up again! I refuse to participate!!

Oh no this is happening and you WILL participate :D:cool:

It's been happening for a while now and when this one doesn't work out the next one will be that the iPad Pro 2 is coming in May, when that proves to be false it will be June and when that doesn't work out people might actually realise that the iPad Pro 2 will most likely be announced at the same event as the iPhone 7s and the 8, probably alongside the Apple Watch 3 also in September.
