You are correct, this site is called MacRUMORS but it is not called MAC-make-stuff-completely-up-simply-to-get-people-riled-up-for-my-own-pleasure.

You seem to imply that all rumors should have the same weight of credibility. The April 14th rumor was completely a work of fiction, from the mind of a single individual. If you want to equate that "rumor" with a rumor from an analyst who has contacts with companies who produce parts for Apple, go right ahead. I've got a big beautiful bridge that I can sell you, real cheap! :p

Well, even those guys have been wrong too. Everybody is just guessing what's under the Christmas tree.

fair enough sracer...

although its ok to say "i think it will come out April 14th" and have a long thread about it, but not ok to say "i have a source and its going to be April 14th forsure"...opinion vs observed fact (or lack thereof) - thats fair

Desperate for an update for the iPad Pro 12.9 as I need to start studying, but looks like I may have to get the current one..

I just can't bring myself to spend the coin on almost 2 year old tech, especially when a refresh is seemingly so close. As soon as the new one drops I'm getting a 256GB cellular model.

It's fine to spend coin on 2 year old tech. Just make sure it is less coin. Like 60% of retail price - a refurbished one on eBay that still has Apple's 1-Year warranty would be excellent.

I think they're overhauling the iPad Pro, including both hardware and software, to be better positioned for getting work done. This is why they haven't updated it yet. I just can't decide if it will be unveiled at WWDC, as they've shied away from that in the past, or whether it will be in the autumn. The main argument for WWDC is they could show Xcode for iOS and have it be iPad Pro only. I suppose they could still do this without new hardware. The autumn argument makes sense if the new iPad takes design cues from the iPhone redesign, such as tiny bezels or OLED. But the problem with that line of thinking is that Apple doesn't always update the design of the iPad to match the iPhone right away, and two years is a long time to wait to upgrade an iPad.

Not trying to change your mind or anything, but I'm a student and I bought my 12.9 just this last November. They told me to wait. The honeymoon hasn't ended. It's everything I thought it would be. I had the very first iPad and this 12.9 is everything I hoped it would become.

I couldn't see myself being more satisfied.

Truthfully, I keep seeing these comments about the Pro, that it's "Two-year-old technology, it's completely dated and/or I wouldn't buy it", but the fact is, its faielt capable of handling tasks is plenty powerful. iPads have Longevity and powerful machines. Even though the iPad Pro12.9 is approaching it's two year anniversary in November, it doesn't mean that it's capabilities are any lessened. It's just those that are wanting to see a refresh Before a new model debuts within five or six months. But then again, that's how the technology cycle is.

I've read a few posts saying the "design language" of the 10.5" iPad Pro means it should be announced in the fall.

The 10.5" tablet is expected to have thinner bezels only. It won't have OLED. Are thin bezels significant enough to delay a release to calibrate with iPhone? Apple is not a auto manufacturer relying on body style refreshes.

The iPhone X is supposed to have thin bezels, wireless charging, OLED, in-display Touch ID, and 3D sensing cameras. All those things combined with the iOS 11 experience is what sells new iPhones - not just bezel design.

I have not been thinking much about the low stock of the iPads in the Apple stores until now. Almost EVERY Apple Store in cities around the United States are showing no iPad Pros until May 16th. Also, the shipping dates for every model on Apple's website is now 2-3 weeks. Normally, I wouldn't think much about this but a whole month is too ludicrous. There has to be something coming. There is no way they are just THAT low on stock.

Now the date for availability in stores shows June 9th.

The 10.5" iPad Pro is rumoured for WWDC but I wonder if they will also update the 12.9" iPad Pro at WWDC as well as adding the new 10.5" version? According to Bloomberg they will also be updating MacBook's with the new processors, will they have time to do all of the following:

iPad Pro 10.5" introduced

Updated MacBook Pro's and 12" Macbook

Siri speaker introduced

iOS 11 announced

MacOS announced

WatchOs4 announced

Apple TV OS announced

It seems like a lot to me to announce in the 2- 2 and a half hours they usually take up at WWDC.

They changed the venue this year for bigger space for product demos after, as for Macs it will be minor refreshes, it would take less then 10 minutes to discuss the new options/lineup.

Why would they not update the 12.9 internally at least?

I wonder the same thing, I'm leaning toward them holding off till fall for a complete 12.9 inch refresh with a A11X processor, this would differentiate from the 10.5 inch model, the way the 15inch and 13inch MacBook Pro differentiate. Although if the leak is true the A11X would murder the A10X performance so I'm not sure if its such a good idea for Apple to put different chips into each Pro model.

I'm really hoping for a refreshed 12.9

Me too we hadn't heard anything about it though and that makes me doubtful, but I'm sorta hoping that Apple suprises us and refreshes both with the new edge to edge screen design, Truetone, improved camera, A10X, and new accessories (Bascklit Smart Keyboard)

Would we hear anything about just an internal update though? A redesign, yes, internal update, not so sure.

I see the Macbooks as a silent refresh when the store goes down for the iPad Pro 2.

Same here. A day one order for me. I'm pretty sure they will refresh it because the availability dates for all of the out of stock versions of it at Apple stores in FL have slipped again, and now the date is June 8th.

Yeah, over here all are showing dispatched in 1-2 weeks where they were available in store a week ago. I should know, I grabbed one... lol
