I'll think about it. Haha. Weirdly, the photos are not affected and I have no idea how. But I will want it fixed for future trade in or resale later down the line.
At least you don't have to rush... But I would know myself and definitely have it fixed because my OCD would bother me so much

How - if at all - does it effect the quality of photographs ie does the software not use that lens; does it only effect distance or low light etc?
The thing is that protective glass on top was damaged and because of that something can get inside and damage actual camera lenses/module. I’m not sure if it’s okay to not fix it right now 🤔

I’ve seen some TikTok videos that show toothpaste applied over a cracked screen and then gently rubbed in can magically make the cracks disappear.
Try that on the camera lens [mention]Aneres11 [/mention] and see how you get on.
If it doesn’t work then you’re either using the wrong brand of toothpaste or you’re doing it wrong.

Apple’s Material You implementation is definitely subpar in comparison to Google’s version. Apple just applies a cheap filter over everything.
For me, where I prefer the iOS iteration because it does not rely on third-party app developers to update every app. Unless Google is doing that now, but at least when I had the S23 Ultra,it was annoying because only system apps actually themed.

I get that, but Apple’s implementation looks cheap and lazy in comparison. I would rather have some icons without a Material You design than have all icons looking like whatever Apple did here with the tinting option. The icons look so ugly. I’m not sure why Apple half-assed this.
I’m pretty sure Apple will require app developers to include monochrome app icon at some point.
I hope so. It doesn’t look like Apple has a monochrome option for its own apps given the current color filter implementation.
Also, I feel like if Apple were to go the monochrome route, they would have done it already with their icons. I’m afraid we are stuck with this cheap color filter overlay in tinted mode.
To each their own. I don't love Apple's implementation either but tbh, I don't bother micro managing my aesthetics on Android because of exactly what you mentioned...hated those isolated apps that couldn't theme and just stood out like a sore thumb, drove me nuts putting in the work only to not be able to have it universally/consistently applied. Won't bother on iOS either, regardless of the options available but if forced, my brain definitely would prefer the consistency. Just don't care about the customization anymore--don't have the time to waste fidgeting with it. Guess I've just turned into that 'Get off my lawn!' grumpy old man. 😂 Glad others have the choice to tweak if they choose.
Thank God they've finally at least removed the grid snapping layout mechanism and can put stuff wherever on home screens.
Exactly, when I was doing all this customizing on Android, it was never quite fully there. Always there was pixel level problems--and the slowdowns. Eventually I would just go back to basics.
I am not sure I am going to bother with tinting anyway--we'll see. I tend to like lots of colors LOL, but I do like that we can move apps anywhere in the grid, doesn't have to have every single spot occupied.
Agreed customization is not for everyone. But at least Apple is moving in the right direction.
For the bolded above...have they? I am running IOS 18 DB1 and it has a way to go to putting things wherever we want them. They still snap to a grid in a lot of ways. But it is still in beta so we will see what the finished product is in Sept.
But I gotta say the DB1 is pretty sweet. The most stable beta release in recent memory.
