He woke up on the wrong side of the bed before he wrote that

Somethings that he forgot to include:

Size of the screen
Battery Life
The fact that it was made by Apple

As the owner of an E70, and someone with access to an iPhone, I have to say I loved that site. :D

Yes, I covet the iPhone. But... the E70 is a darned nice phone too. The best thing about it is I can stick in in my pocket with my keys and not care. ;)

oooh, I saw this yesterday. I LOVE maddox!!

Heh.. I throw my iPhone in the same pocket of my purse as keys and a nail clipper. No scratches! :)

Dude, this is sooo awesome. The "objective" comparo was the icing on the cake.

His other essays are hilarious as well. Great jerb.

His book is awesome too if you've new to the site.

Just saying... there's an element of truth in the rant. :D

True, I don't like it as much as his earlier stories, it seems fairly full of holes, whereas the previous maddox articles have generally been sharp and to the point.

It is still quite entertaining, but seems to be missing the overall truth of his earlier rants. Maybe because I know too much about the iPhone compared to other topics, <shrug>.

I like Maddox... I went to a book signing of his.

It's true that his analysis is pretty objective. At least it isn't filled with half-truths and outright incorrect information like most iPhone-bashing articles. I haven't used the E70 so I can't really comment a whole lot... the only thing that I have a problem with is the fact that it's pretty apparent he has never used the iPhone, or at least has only used it for a few minutes. Anyone who has actually tried using the keyboard on the iPhone for longer than a few minutes knows how easy it is to operate compared to a "real" keyboard. That, and I also question using arguments like the ability to SSH into servers as evidence that the E70 is better than the iPhone... I'm sure that 99.9% of the population has never even used SSH, let alone regularly. The best part about the iPhone is that every feature is immensely useful by most people. Also he doesn't count the cost of the micro-sd cards that are optional but required to store songs in his $360 cost figure.

A good article, but not entirely accurate IMO
