I don't want to sound greedy, but there is no way I would post a thread, saying where to pick up an iphone in the city I live in. Maybe once I ensure I'm one of the top 5 inline, lol.
...
ive told every1 so far to go the opposite way of where im goin lol.. hehe .. im gettin 100 iphones and selling them on ebay for 40 billion dollars lmao!! HEHE JK

Honestly, there is no need to line up. Apple's site says there are 1,800 AT&T stores getting the phone, and there are around 160 U.S. Apple stores that are definitely getting the phone, so lets says 2,000 locations total.

I would assume apple has been able to pump out tons of iPhones in June, and I would make a conservative estimate of 200,000 units available at launch, that's 100 phones per location, more than enough to go around, and way more stock than many stores had for the PS3 and Wii.

Of course this is just my estimate on no basis whatsoever other than my opinion, but I really don't think lining up is necessary, unless you want to be the first person in your town to have one.

If you want an iPhone, just go to an Apple store in Bum Fork™ Nowhere and get in line on Friday morning. That surely is better than getting in line this damn early

Holy S_ _ _ after reading this thread I went over to the Apple store here on South Beach thats like 5 min away from my house and so far I'm happy to report no campers just yet.... I also took a picture of the store this was 10 min ago.

Well, yeah, extra, because its just a phone. Just like the Wiis, PS3s and 360s are just a game console. If standing outside for 4 days in NYC meant you'd get a Ferrari for free or something, I'd book a plane ticket right now, but standing outside for 4 days to purchase any product is just extra crazy ;)

Live, and let live.

It doesn't both me, more power to them.

Just went to 5th avenue and saw three chairs outside with one guy waiting. I guess the other two went to the bathroom. They had suitcases and were ready to camp out. I asked the guy working the door and and he said they know the line would start sometime. He also could not tell me a thing about the release.

woah, nice interview video! I'm totally willing to bet that that guy has been paid to wait in line. look at him, he's not an iPhone customer! he's probably getting paid $100 a day to wait there.

Ya, I agree. "I'll see how it works"? He's probably not even going to buy it. Some exec or celeb will roll up 10 to 6 on Friday and take his spot.

Hmm... I'm sure he may be getting paid by some advertising agency affiliated with Apple or Apple themselves to hype this iPhone up.

After watching that

Im convinced that guy has NO idea what the iphone is about, or he's faded....

Honestly tho, he looks like hes gonna sell it as soon as he gets home.

I too think these initial people in NYC are lining up now for the attention. From every thing I've read - lining up the same day, morning & afternoon, should be fine. Of course there is always going to be people that have the time & willingness to wait four days.

If I was to get in line that early, I'd be armed with a custom iphone shirt, my macbook pro, and tons of other apple geekery. doesn't seem like he's got any of that.

Yeah. He's probably figuring this is gonna be just like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Hopefully he is in for a rude awakening. Didn't seem from that video that he even knew when the thing was coming out, with his "i'll be here 2-3 days." More like 4. Besides, if he was into tech at all he'd be blogging the whole thing from the line.

I'd better run down there and get in that line.

I might miss out!!!!

Oh wait...I'm in Chicago

nevermind.
