Damn... this phone looks like an ugly piece of ****. Way to ruin what was once one of the nicest looking phones out there

Definitely wont buy this ugly bastard.

This thing has NOTHING to share in common with the moto x. It is big, it looks corny, compared to the beautiful moto x. Seriously, slap a samsung logo on it and I would think it is a Galaxy S4

Oh people liked that nice, subtle dimple on the back. LETS SLAP A MOTHER****ING BIG BADGE ON THE NEXT ONE

Maybe the giant M on the new one is a sensor of some sort?

Moto X is beautiful. Shame that this looks a bit less lovely. To be fair though, I've got the Nexus 5 and I don't really care that it's just a big oblong.

Well, the design does seem like a step back, but if the specs hold (s801, 1080p screen) and that design is legit with small bezels and front facing speakers, as long as the screen size is 4.9" or less this will be a day one purchase for me. If its 5" or greater, I would have to hold it first, but it would need to physically be smaller than my HTC One M8 for me to consider it.

Day one buy for me if they don't take forever to release it.

I hope it's released before the end of September here in Europe. Also I need the 32GB model or at least microSD slot.

This device is what the Nexus 5 should have been.

Personally I think this looks just fine.

If this has the battery life and camera, I don't really care how it looks to be honest ;)

I wonder what those extra holes/sensors (?) are in front of the device. Maybe taking touchless controls to a new level? Very curious.

And I sincerely hope those are dual speakers up front. If they pull a Moto E where the bottom one is just for the microphone, that would be really stupid.

September 4th can't come soon enough. My interest in the Moto 360 is also growing.

People are so obsessed with how a phone "looks" as if they are going to wine and dine it, try to slip it into something more comfortable and then slink under the covers....

Conclusion: people are weird.

Really curious what those extra sensors are in the front. Hopefully they're not there for no reason...

Depending on what the Nexus 6 holds in store, I'd consider an unlocked X+1. Never going back to carrier phones and their OS update & bloat policies.

I only feel better about the Nexus 6 because it's rumored to be made by Motorola. Otherwise, it seems to me there's always some caveat to the Nexus lines.

Time will tell but I really want a personal Android phone so the X+1 might be hard to resist if it ends up being a good phone. I find myself using my 5C less and less and reaching for my work phone (Moto X) more and more.

I wish the time frame of the Nexus 6 was a lot closer to help my decision.

Wait a second: Evleaks did not say that this was the Moto X1, did he?

This could aswell very well be just a Verizon exclusive Droid variant coudlnt it?
It would make more sense, that this leaks easier than the plain Moto X1 aswell, since motorola would have to send the picture to Verizons ad agencies.

I think the connection is that it matches a previous MX+1 leak. It's probably the real deal. Can't wait to see color combinations with Moto Maker.

My other concern is whether this is going to be some Verizon exclusive. That would be [again] a dumb move by Motorola.

Well Motorola has been said to work on some Droids. It was only speculated that his was the Moto X1 - but it could be aswell a Droid variant of the Moto X1

I don't care about front facing speakers. The speaker on the current moto x is really loud.

I feel the front facing speakers is just a gimmicky thing. I dont need front facing speaker. For what? Watching movies? It will still sound worse than headphones.

Plus I think front facing speakers ALWAYS look bad.

This is interesting.

Revamped Moto Skip Coming According To FCC Documents, Now A Fetch-Like Bluetooth Dongle For Your Key Ring

http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...etch-like-bluetooth-dongle-for-your-key-ring/

Maybe Motorola will hand these out for free with each X+1 pre-order or something. I don't think I'd pay for it otherwise when you can very easily toggle lock-screen on/off with widgets (a feature that I love. It's annoying having to put my pin in for my iPhone 5C always even when I don't need the security).

Either way, the Skip seems pretty nice.

More news and leaks on the Moto G2.

Looks really nice.

I could buy this instead of the X+1 for 2 reasons: price (250$ it has been said vs 600$ of the X+1 probably) and IPS screen vs AMOLED screen on the X+1.

All I would need is 1080P video recording at least on the G2, although I have my point & shoot camera for that also. I also want the 4K video recording on the X+1, so it's a tough decision for me.

Yeah, the Moto G2 could be really interesting too.

Can't wait for Sept 4th.

I dont understand why someone would rather have a rear / downward facing speaker, the only positive is looks.
