I just ordered one :) Mind you I tend to keep them for a while and get my $'s worth from them. I looked at the Samsung Alpha as well but something about the moto x just appealed to me. Battery life is ok (12/14 hours on average for most people). The camera is ok and I suspect it will get better over time with updates. The camera hardware looks to be more than capable so my guess it's down to s/w.

You will have about 25GB left out of the 32GB for your stuff which for me is more than ok as I tend to stick most of my stuff in the cloud (music and video).

Looking forward to it.

After messing around for two weeks with each of the new iPhones, I pass.

Next up is this one. It'll certainly save me some bucks over each of the iPhones. I should have it by the end of the day and if I like it enough, I'll sell my first gen. If not, I'll return it and just keep the first.

Somebody please tell me how to stop with all this smartphone madness. I may as well be Linda Blair in the Exorcist with my head spinning. :)

I'm starting to wish I had both this phone over the iphone 6. I've had iphone's in the past so I'm not unfamiliar with iOS, it's just that I really liked my X (I still have it, but I already promised it to my mom). Damn, I really wish they had released 64GB at launch. I don't know I have another 6 days to think about it.

New Moto is $499 off contract at Verizon, the 6 jumps to $649 with less than ideal ergonomics and screen resolution/ppi. Gave it a chance but it really was slim to none of keeping it which I didn't.

I am more the Apple tablet admirer than an iPhone regardless of my moniker. Much better value/bang for buck for me personally with android smartphones.

Don't have Verizon, have T-mobile. Would have to buy the X outright. I think I'm going to keep my 6 (have the 128GB on T-mo's installment plan). One of the main reasons, I came back to iPhone was because I needed more storage space. Plus, there are some apps and games I use, that haven't updated on Android, or come to Android yet. And it's not like I'm completely without an Android device, my Nook HD has all my Android apps on it (well the compatible ones).

Mine's delivering next week. Will be setting my Moto Voice phrase as "Moto, make Tim Cook cry." :D

Just ordered my Moto X. Will be coming next week.

Does anyone recommend a good tempered glass screen protector?

Do you dislike your iPhone?

I don't dislike it, but I don't love it. There are certain things from Android and my Moto X miss. Besides I'm already pass the 14 day return window, anyway.

I see. Using Android has spoilt me and I know I'll miss some exclusive Android features.

Was really looking forward to this device, even had a custom design saved. But the battery life and camera are two negatives i can't overlook.

I've had iPhone's before so I knew what to expect. Maybe because the X was my first Android, I really enjoyed the experience. I really wish the current X had came out with a 64GB version because I need more storage space. If Moto does release one, I hope they do it soon.

I've used iOS for three years and Android for two lol

Anybody get the update yet?

Crickets.

Is it me or did everyone forget about this device? All this talk about how important stock android is and how everyone prefers it but this device isn't making much of a splash it seems. What gives?

It depends on where you go. I've seen a lot of comments since the Nexus 6 was announced where people are considering getting this phone. Plus there is the option of the Turbo if you're a Verizon user. I think some people are just having Motorola phone overload.

Maybe on boards like this and in the android community it was eclipsed by the N6, but where I work (City of London) it's very popular- See them everywhere. Guess it's a great size for phone yet very pocket-able.

Love mine and looking forward to Android 5 being available in the next couple of days.

It's incredible what Motorola are doing with updates. Didn't they push out Lollipop on the same day as Google to Nexus devices?

It makes one wonder, again, why this device isn't even more popular! Near stock Android, good performance overall, and Nexus-like timely updates. And on the hardware side, you get to customize the look to your heart's content.

Aren't those exactly what people have been clamoring for in an Android device?

I applaud Motorola. Wish they'd get more love.

Motorola lack of push in european markets and their total lack of presence with mobile carriers in europe is one of the major reasons the moto x is not as successful as it potentially could be.

No moto maker for the majority of europe, and when your faced with buying an iPhone or samsung from your carrier at say €49-199 subsidised or buying a moto x from a third party store like Amazon for €599 it just stands to reason why you see very few of them around.

In Australia we only get 16GB white or black and they have even delayed the launch date...not to mention the price at $699 AUS!

I won't be getting this phone at that stupid price but will eventually.

Ah, I see. That's completely fair then. I was narrow-mindedly thinking only of the US market.

That sucks. :T

yeah. I got my 32Gb X off motomaker in the UK (I have an office in London) but they have almost zero presense here in Europe. I hope with the Lenovo purchase they may start to make inroads as I like what they make.

Played with one recently, good phone. But display is super saturated and looks almost cartoonish. Battery life is dire but the phone is fast and responsive. Probably the fastest i've used after the One+

Not sure I will use it that much after getting the Nexus 5 yesterday for which I much prefer that ones speed and display. Probably willl sell the Moto soon.
