Well after seeing those what can only be described as atrocities calling he,selves the +1, it made me want the Moto X even more than I already had a hankering for, so I've done it .... I've just ordered a black moto X new from Germany for 238 including shipping.

Play golf. There must be some nice courses in your region and you will get some more nice photos to show us.
Intervention is futile especially since the iPhone 6 and Note 4 are right round the corner.

that looks fantastic
The only thing that makes me skeptical is the inclusion of the SD card slot. I doubt Google would have supported that while they had influence at Motorola.
Note, this is not an indication that I don't want an SD card slot, I do. If this phone comes out as it is shown it's a huge contender to pull me away from my iPhone.

Though I did try golf once .... Let's just say my leftie cack handed swinging left a lot to be desired and a number of bad dints in the teeing off area which wasn't appreciated

A digger then. No problem, take a broom and grip it like you would a club but split your hands about 6 inches and just practicing sweeping with it. Works wonders.
Hit the range for awhile and go play after you get better cause I want to see pics.

Did Verizon even have the Moto X last year? I thought it was TMobile and AT&T but could be wrong and i never had one.

Don't know if it's been mentioned...there's a rumor that the Nexus 6 will be a variation on the Moto X + 1, which makes quite a lot of sense.
I hadn't heard about it until yesterday, but there's another rumor that Google's going to be selling "Android Silver" versions of more phones, which sounds like an extension of their "Google Play" versions of phones. They'll all be running real/stock Android.
So that's good that they're maybe finally taking more responsibility for the OS.
I'm in the market for a 12" tablet but the #1 reason I'm not jumping on a Samsung 12.2" one is that it's not stock Android and I have no idea if it'll really ever get updates (pretty sure it won't, in fact).

Actually I'm surprised the camera isn't as bad as everyone says it is. It's certainly on par with the M8's camera.
Just taken in the past hour ...
Really digging it. It does feel very well in the hand. My biggest gripe is auto brightness is quite low, and outdoor visibility doesn't come close to my Lumia 930 or S5.
Driving mode is great. Speaker on the back is much better and clearer than the Galaxy S5. Call quality is excellent, and call reception likewise. My usual test of driving through a black spot - which drops 95% of calls on almost all the phones I have had - seemed to have no trouble with the Moto X.
Can't tell if good pictures or scenic landscape.

But in all seriousness, the camera sucks. Wait til you get indoors. I'd wager many subpar cameras taken in such scenic landscape and in daylight would come out fairly well.
Or maybe you had lower expectations for the camera due to feedback you've read. Anyway, in fairly normal usage -- taking pics of friends, things indoors, etc. -- the Moto X camera is dreadful.
