BTW, the Passport looks really pretty. I hope it fits in a normal shirt pocket.

I think not having to rotate the screen, and hide the keyboard would be great. Maybe the shorter screen is not so bad.

BlackBerry really needs to release a full touchscreen phone with more built-in storage this year (I mean, it's not like we're going to buy the Porsche, right?).

Or at least, allow the apps to be installed on the SD card.

With a width of 82 mm, a depth of 10.2 mm and a very portly 175g, I sincerely doubt it.

Are you going to buy it outright?

I don't think many network operators are going to carry the device.

I use a Q10 at the moment and it is without a doubt one of the best phones I've owned. I see the awful trackball has made a return (I thought we were past that BlackBerry!) in one of the new models, but other than that it looks like a solid lineup update. Not enough to make me want to upgrade just yet though.

I don't buy from operators, even if here all of them offer BlackBerry.

Maybe I'll buy the Z30 if the price drops enough, even if the battery is non-removable, the resolution is less than that of the Z10, and it has only 16GB of built-in storage. I will have to buy one more phone, so I would prefer to "upgrade" rather than getting another Z10 for $220.

Unless Jolla offers some better hardware than the Z30 for a good price.

BB10 is lacking the ability to gift apps, like it seems it was possible with classic.

LOL, WTH? That Passport is ridiculously ugly. Yes it is next to a little iPhone but damn it just looks like a ugly square Tablet. The video is hideous and isnt close to using the whole screen which makes the video window small. IMO you really have to be a fanboy on BB to want one of those.

Ive less than zero interest in a Blackberry phone.

I think it's a social device. It will start conversations.

- Z3 available in Hong Kong on July 8
- Z3 available in South Africa mid-July from Vodacom (those who buy in July will get a selection of paid apps worth $40)

So already one report of somebody comparing the Z10 and the Z3 at the store in India and choosing the Z3.

Yeah i thought the same thing. You wonder sometimes how some products make it through consumer testing? Maybe there wasn't amy in this case?

There have been prototype leaks for a very long time. Given that I find the keys of things like the Nokia E6 too small, maybe the original motivation was to provide bigger ones.

And the decision to actually release may be to have something very distinctive to generate buzz.

I agree on both counts. It doesn't matter if it doesn't sell many copies. Actually for the future owners it is better if there are not many of them, to engage in conversations (something that makes you want to buy this product at launch at full price, instead of waiting for it to be discounted).

It would be interesting after a few months to see how that conversation turned into sales?
You have to admit that form factor would seem to only appeal to a very few......

I see that it appeals to a lot of BB fans, so if it can convert some people from BB7 it is also good.

I find that phones are in general not wide enough for easy browsing of some websites even in landscape mode, so the practicality of the screen is a concern in my case.

And I'm definitely not going to buy it if it doesn't fit in a shirt pocket.

yes. yes it is touchscreen.

The Q5, the Q10, and the forthcoming Classic also have touch screens. There are no BB10 phones without touchscreen.
