A lot of people have the same wishlist that I have. :)

I use my iPad as a tablet, only with the virtual keyboard and Pencil. No case. Only a sleeve. For iPad Pro hardware, I'd like to have:
  • 5:4 aspect ratio display. Something like 11.6" and 14.5" diagonals, corresponding to 12 and 15 virtual keyboard keys on the long side. Gives me more display area while the virtual keyboard is displayed. Would be a better balance for portrait and landscape at 12" to 14" tablet display sizes.
  • A more secure way for attaching the Pencil. If not that, a battery case accessory for the Pencil that can both keep the Pencil charged and the case can even use magnetic latching for attaching to an iPad.
  • Fingerprint-free touch surface! Minimize this as much as possible. Tough problem.
  • The bottom edge should be rounded like the iPhone 5C. Flat sides with rounded bottom edges.
  • No back camera bump. I'd prefer like four 8MP cameras that can fit flush in a 5mm thick frame and computationally create a 16MP image from the four 8MP cameras.
  • Smart Connector should by Thunderbolt compatible. Use 12/24 pins? Special light based connector? Serialized everything and use 4 or 5 pins? Put another TB4 port where the Smart Connector is, or on the bottom edge?
  • Keep driving the weight down. Ie, 1.28 lb for the iPP13 is fantastic. Now, try to get to 1.1 lb.

Obviously there are a lot of low hanging fruit with the software.

Battery life is really not good when doing taxing work for longer time periods.

On my M1 12.9" it wasn't great even with light loads (Safari, Reeder, screen share, Blink). With intermittent use during the day I'm down to 10% by 4pm. That's with Magic Keyboard connected, so maybe this is part of the problem.

I would have wished for a stronger hold of the Pencil, it kept falling off at the slightest provocation. Is it holding on better with the M4?

Increase screen size on 11” to 12” and the 13”to 14”. Battery needs to be increased to a minimum of 12 -15 hours. Improve speaker sound quality by increasing bass and reducing vibration while holding the iPad. Make it so that when using the Magic Keyboard it’s not so top heavy and more like a laptop when using the keyboard case on your lap.

Yeah they have some wobble in the MGK, both sizes 13" more. Just tried both in store.

Yeah Apple use to be the GOAT when it came to device thinness. I’m glad they’re back up they’re returning to this ideology. The iPad Pro is crazy thin but image how cool it would be at half the thickness.
But what becomes of structural integrity at that point? What do we gain? How many downsides are there? Will that require we have pathetic battery life and terrible speakers? It's not like it's too heavy right now that we're too weak to carry it about...

I absolutely love my new M4 iPad Pro.

Great screen, great speakers, fast, light, Apple Pencil Pro is a game changer.

I just don’t know what they can do to make iPad any better?

Suggestions?
Tim, is that you?

Lower the cost. Make an 8.3-inch sized version. Restore the ultra-wide camera and maybe add a telephoto lens (especially on the 11-inch, and would-be 8.3-inch versions). Give iPadOS better multi-tasking, multi-user support, Terminal, better window management, better file management and external drive options. Do any combination thereof.

How about standardizing RAM size and nano-texture glass availability across the Pro lineup regardless of storage capacity. Not going to happen of course, Apple loves pricing ladders.

Too many folks with unreal expectations.

What's missing from the iPad? Specifically, iPadOS is of the following:
  • first and foremost, Stream multiple audio/vid sources at once
  • A toggle to sleep iPad display when connected to a monitor
  • An option to pin a window in Stage Manager
  • Increase the 4-window limit when connected to a monitor

Make it out of titanium...honestly they figured out how to avoid that whole bend gate thing with this current generation.

How about adding magsafe to its back?
For wireless charging or to mount it on a tripod, or perhaps having some accessories on it?

I see it quite difficult considering it's a lot heavier than iPhones. But I'd be curious if Apple has ever considered the idea.

Increase the price some more and it'd be perfect. The new M4 iPad Pro is too cheap. That's why lots have been complaining because it's underpriced. Look at that M4 processor that majority of people have already been pushing to its limits

MacOS apps!!!! It would be perfect and could easily run them as same damned architecture!!! Anyone who says different is being a sheep and loves AAPL not freedom of competition.

I went to local Apple Store one day to check the new M4 iPad Pro. The screen was amazing compared to my M1 iPad Pro. It’s thinner, though Not necessarily lighter, which I don’t mind much anyways (carrying a keyboard case). The weaker speaker is quite noticeable to me however, even in an Apple Store. Specifically overall lower sound output And weaker presentation of music/sound in general. And the loss of ultra wide camera lens is real. It’s a shame it has to go that way. To me ultra wide is more useful than 2x pseudo-optical zoom.

Is iPad Pro now nearly perfect? Well, I’d say no, even in terms of the hardware. Not everyone will appreciate a thin device cause the bending concern. Lighter iPad would be great but the weight has to go from somewhere. Does that mean the battery would be smaller? Or iPad would use titanium in the future? What if Apple just want to stick to a weight target regardless? There’s bound to be trade-offs Between different design decisions, so it will never reach perfection universally.

I have many more when it comes to iPadOS but those are certainly part of the list!

I really like the form factor as I find it harder wearing and not as fragile as a laptop.

I think for me it’s software or maybe going off topic to redesign the MacBook in the image of the iPad. That screen with quality with a nicer detachable keyboard like those windows machines maybe.

I’ve always been hyper critical of the iPad but oddly I reach for it more than my Mac for everyday basica
