What is odd to me is the iPhone getting the ability to place widgets among the icons on each app page, but the iPad didn’t.My problem with iPad OS is that Apple is still handling the GUI as a HUGE iPhone. iPad OS really needs its own interface language, which is likely an intermediary mix between macOS and iOS.
Not who you asked, but I’ve had issues with educational web applications, like Canvas and Blackboard. Please give an example
Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure that for Apple, the built-in headphone jack ship has sailed.Stupid endnote with full cite while you write integration.
Full featured Creative Suite, with plugins.
Final Cut Pro.
It’s mostly a software issue. I’ve seen my 2020 IPad Pro chug a little when I have alot going on, and I’ve seen it force reload apps and webpages. The M1 sounds great, but if the software can’t keep up, there’s not enough of a draw to update. Once the pro apps get going on iPad Pro, it will make a great new option. External display is a must, I’d love a headphone jack too, my 25 year old AKG 240M headphones sound perfect for audio editing and video work, I’d love to use them on the go on the iPad.
Make sure your thunderbolt dock has audio I/O and you’ll be all set then.I can’t really give up my only thunderbolt port for a headphone adaptor if I have an external monitor, drives, etc attached. I like the touchscreen UI. As for the calculator… seriously, what the hell? Why wouldn’t it be a standard app? Just make the phone icons bigger if you must. It’s a strange oversight.
I really wanna upgrade from my 10.5, but I'm seriously at the point that I can't see the benefit for what I use it for.The fact it only runs iOS. You can have all the power in the world, but so long as the OS is held back, it makes me wonder if upgrading my 2017 Pro is even worth it.
Heh. I have absolutely given up on Endnote.Stupid endnote with full cite while you write integration.
What do you mean? It has USB-C now.limited support for peripherals.
What do you use now? Does it have an inline citation function? I keep trying zotero and the like but it’s a problem too.Heh. I have absolutely given up on Endnote.
VSCode can be ran on an iPad if you know how. I can write and compile my react apps from my iPad.I love my 2020 iPad Pro, but I don''t see the benefit for me of having one with an M1 processor in it - I've never once thought "This iPad could do with more power" because the limiting factor is iPad OS, not the raw power of the device: I can edit documents and photos with no lag at all, taking notes is buttery smooth and browsing websites is blazing fast.
If they allowed you to run MacOS (or even just MacOS apps) on it, then I'd be all over it, but until that time it will continue to be a companion device (as a software developer I, unfortunately, can't do my "day job" on an iPad)
Yeah, I use GitPod for on the go editing on my iPad (I have it configured to use VS code as an editor), but VS code is pretty limited compared to tools like Rider which is my preferred C# IDE or WebStorm which is my preferred Angular IDEVSCode can be ran on an iPad if you know how. yeah I think 3 windows or the option for a pop up window would be a much welcome improvement.multi tasking.
If true multi tasking on ipad os is not possible, I at least want vertical multitasking & 3 windows at once. (like 1/2 1/4 1/4).

The more time I spend with the Galaxy Tab S6 + Bookcover Keyboard + DeX the more I miss the similar functionality on the iPad.multi tasking.
