Upgrading Mac Mini
A very interesting thread, well done.
From the day the Mini was released I thought it was a stroke of genius. Throw away the windows box, replace it with a Mac.
Unfortunately Apple failed to fully capitalise on the idea. I have over the years heard many people talk of the Mini's lack of capacity. My Mac minis (I have 3) can keep up with any windows machine in my office. The Mini is excellent in what is probably the most common computer situation - a small office where staff are generally using word processing, spreadsheet, perhaps a database, accounts and internet connection/email.
Why have Apple not cracked this market. Perhaps it is a psychological thing, people think the name Mac Mini means low end performance. I have not found this in fact, with a MBP to compare it with I have found the Mini performance is excellent.
Perhaps a revised Mini should be called a "Maxi".
I note a rather poor BBC computer show called Click (they always have a downer on Apple) recently announced with great fanfare these amazing small box windows machines as if it were a new idea. The Mac Mini did it years ago.
Anyway to my point.
I have 2 G4 Minis. Does anyone know if it possible to to change the motherboard to a core duo motherboard?
