7 minutes to go... the suspense is killing me. The OP doesn't want to weigh in on how almost certain this event will be for a mac mini release?

imac.

no headless one in between, but specwise, iMac is it.

And that's the issue. It's a glossy all in one computer and doesn't fill the gap. There is no mid tier desktop. I can't fathom that Apple hasn't done this on purpose for years.

If you require an OSX desktop you gotta make either make do with an outdated Mini or jump up to a Mac Pro. I believe there is a segment of users forced to the Pro

So finally decided to register to the forum. Have been following the buzz last weeks! Lets hope for some good news in a few minutes.

Interesting...

The Australian Apple store has the front page of the Mini section showing a starting (ie base model) price of $749. Was $599 a few hours ago.

Also, not certain, but I think the main text line on the Mini page is different. Now it says:

Way more power. Way same size.

But tech specs still look the same. For now.

...or you have to clean those Cheetos crumbs out from under the key :)
Had a look under the key. There's not been a spillage, but the amount of crud under there is incredible. it's (i'm not copy/pasting a cap 'i') almost like a felt of cat hair. With added Cheetos, obviously.

Right... of into the cupboard in search of my nasty old A1048*. Now those things really show the dirt!

* Bugger. My '8' has failed. And as a consequence so has my '*'. Obviously not a cat hair issue.

Pretty sure 'Way more power. Way same size.' was on there before. If you read the detail below, it's referring to the speed increase of previous generation dual core mac-minis.

The price increase, if true, is of note.

Bare with us!!

Could have been $699, my eyes aren't the best.

But definitely was something 99. Not 749.

Might be just a price adjustment due to falling AUD in recent weeks. Same old Mini, at extra cost!

If so, then glad I got mine last year.

The US store is also saying the same so it looks like we'll finally be able to close this thread. Booyah !
