The new Mac mini is almost certainly coming

I'm so annoyed and can't decide what to do. Today I was seconds away from driving to a shop and buying the mid Mac Mini 2.6 ghz (without SSD or more ram). The next seconds I wanted to wait for an updated version...

There isn't refurbished Macs in my country, otherwise I would consider a Late 2012 Mini with high specs.

The hardest thing is not knowing, when a new Mac Mini will be released.

Just thought I would shift you to where the whole gamut of anticipation, speculation, dreams, wishes and emotions are expressed. It's a fun thread, but in truth, all that anybody knows for sure is that the new Mac Mini is almost certainly coming…. eternally.

I hope there will be a new Mini coming. I might finally join the throng if the other Macs (October) are not what I need. I'd like to own another Mac that will give me 5 years of good service and the Mini is making starting to make serious sense.

I really hope a new Mac mini is coming. Flying to the US on September 25th and gonna buy a Mini for sure. If a new one comes out, great! If not, I'll just buy the current one, even though I hate that it doesn't support 4k 60hz (planning on buying a 4k monitor soon).
 
It will be interesting to see what happens to the Mac Mini of the future. Will there be one? Will it be nanoized? Will it remain the same enclosure with new components.

The 2012 was the hot rod of Mini computers. Will we see a renaissance?

I'm wanting to purchase one as well, but going to wait until the show on the 9th to see what happens. Hate buying stuff and then a week later a big update comes out.
 
If we see a renaissance in the mini > very big bang for the buck, I am 100% on board.

I'll waiting until late October. It would nice of Apple to update a Mac (ad the Mac Mini) on the 9th; but isn't that event is for their iDevices and Apple TV?

IF there is a new one coming hopefully Apple doesn't screw it up like the '14 model where nothing is user replaceable.

These prices are in Swiss Francs (where one Swiss Franc is about 1.04 USD) and include the local tax and shipping (inside Switzerland, of course - they don't do exports)

IIRC, Intel is supposed to take the wraps of most of the Skylake portfolio at IFA in Berlin (a couple of days before Apple's event). So, technically, everything should be in place if Apple wanted to unveil a complete overhaul of their offerings.

Reality might end up being we "just" get a new iPhone and then the rest trickles out bit by bit between now and Christmas....except for the Mini, which they'll drag out 'til 2017 because the handful of people working on it also has to help out in the cafeteria (or so), two times a week ;-)

I expect you could see a new Mini in June-October '16. Definitely by/at Oct. 16.

Apple doesn't pay much attention to the mini. I would like them to come sooner, but the 2-year cycle is probably secured due to the slipping prominence of desktops.

I would like to see the mini get a redesign into an ultra-small package with the next version. They could easily get rid of half the volume, but it would be completely sealed and factory customized.

I could see Apple using Core M with a fanless nano enclosure.

Been around long enough to know better than to say which October.

I just played with the 2014 base Mac Mini at the Apple store this morning and while it's a little slow for obvious reasons, I was a lot more pleased with it than the 2013 21.5 iMac I've cancelled 2x recently. I can only imagine what a higher specced BTO Mini is like (definitely more my speed.)

Waiting is stupidly difficult but I'll make do. It would be great to hear about a new Mini in October.
