My MacBook Pro 14 inch M3 max just arrived. I took a side-by-side photo of it next to my MacBook Pro, 14 inch M1. I’ll let you be the judge, but when it’s not under studio light, it is a whole lot darker than I thought it was going to be, thoughts anyone ?

It's a stunning color, I think it looks great.
Yes, since only the larger YouTubers got demos to review or unbox, their studios are very well lit compared to most other smaller YouTubers, and the color will look lighter. Just like most reviews of the Midnight color look more like a lighter shade of blue in reviews than it does in person.

I'm using my 16" M3 Pro at my dining room table right now away from direct light and it looks pretty close to black.

It does look good, It reminds me of the old black plastic MacBooks which was around the time I got into Apple stuff. I remember thinking they looked really cool. It gives me nostalgia.
It is SO black, I am actually stunned.
What are your initial thoughts about the "fingerprint repellent" finish? Wondering if it is indeed better than the midnight finish on the MBAs....
It is a stunning color. I think it looks much better than the Space Gray color. I also like the matching MagSafe cord.
Thus far, I would say it is better than the Midnight finish. I can tell a difference.
That looks really good but I with the Apple logo still glowed.
The best thing is it disperses light much better. My roommate's is sitting next to my M1 Pro and it's remarkable how much less glare it has.
That's a pretty big functional issue when this big slab of metal is under your eyes and a bright light is overhead, major recipe for eye strain. It seems like it makes just as much difference from space black to space gray and space gray does to silver.
