His Steveness shall be allowing mere mortals to own a piece of his genius-ly crafted homage to the telecommunication era. Let us all take a moment and reflect on the reverence that is the Steveness and his gift to humanity.

I have a feeling that when I pass the AT&T Cingular Store today at 6:20ish, there may be a few people in there but I'm not sure how the Three Apple Stores in our North Atlanta area will be doing.

second hand but someone is reporting two tents at an atlanta at&t ... although the person said one was a dj of some sort.

Possibly in the down town area, but here on the South side its as quiet a church mouse. I'm curious to see how many people show up at Apple Specialist stores like us, we are getting a lot of calls, but no one showing up to get in line. We close at 6pm by the way, LOL.

I'm going at 5:30 (I can't help it)

My mum doesn't get off her job 'till 4:30 and the nearest store (or at least one carrying the iPhone, Maine isn't THAT rural) is 45+ minutes away depending on all the tourist traffic (which will be heavy most likely). I'm afraid I might not get one, but at the same time, I am feeling pretty confident. Are there any final numbers on how many were shipped, because I felt confident for Wii also, and some of us may know how that launch went. Bloody awful it did. Real question is, if I don't get one, how in the hell long will I have to wait? If I don't get one until August or something, it'll be rubbish yes.

#15 of about 35 or so at the Chandler Fashion Mall in Chandler, AZ. Drove by every couple of hours from midnight on, and I jumped in the line at about 5:45.

In line here at the The Falls store at Miami. Got here at 10 am and thought that there wouldn't be a lot of people considering how it still is a "work" day!!! Anyhoo, 70-80 people here already and its growing faster than a kid on growth hormones!

Just read the Engadget entry where Steve Jobs says that the number of units available today would not be enough to meet demand (really now?!), so try to get down to your local stores at the earliest!

Good luck!

People need to start begging Apple employees to tell how many phones they have. One of them HAS to crack. Go for the ones that look weak. Then we will all have somewhat of an idea about how many phones there are at each location.

I'm the 1st in line at the Florida Mall Apple store in Orlando. I got here at about 7:30am.

Whats up Central Florida buddy. I would LOVE to get an update from you later today about the line there. I live in New Smyrna Beach and I am going to try to get one at the AT&T Store, but if I can't I am going to try to run over to the Apple Store where you are at.

What sucks is I get out of work at 5PM! I hope that doesn't screw me. I am actually going to go to work in hopes of good karma. haha

I'm number 8 in line at my local AT&T store... of course, I'm at work, but I waited for a friend to show up and take my spot while I get paid for the rest of the day!

There's about 15 to 20 now in line in Brandon Florida, and this is the smaller (and I believe) lesser known AT&T store in town... there's a larger one about 4 minutes from here, no word on their line.

And, of course, about 20 minutes away, the Apple store in the International Mall...

That sounds like BS.

That sounds right to me... Once you drop a service you don't expect the carrier to keep that phone number unused and unavailable forever, do you? If you don't grab it before 30 days is up they'll recycle it to a new customer. Then it's too late. It would be totally wrong if someone was able to steal my new number just because they "used to have it".

Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, IL

black screens are up...quite a few people here in line, but not outrageous. and Jimmy Johns apparently delivers to the back of the line! :)
