This is kind of a stupid question but whatever.

When you order online and it says "Ship in 5-8 Days" or whatever does that mean that it will leave Apple in 5-8 days? Or arrive in 5-8 days?

I find that it means that Apple will ship it out in 5-8 days. In my experience, my item always ships out before that time, and arrives close to after it (if I chose the slowest shipping option).

Oh, ok

And also on my order page it said estimated ship May 25, but it shipped on the 20th. Does that mean that it should arrive on the 25th? Or did it just ship earlier than expected.

If it did have dead pixels would Apple replace it for you? I'd be really bummed if I found some dead pixels after it arrived. Those things drive me crazy.

I'm not sure what Apple's policy is, but is likely to be replacement only after about 4 dead pixels. Dead pixels aren't the end of the world some are barely noticeable.

Fact is, monitors would be double the price if they made them with a no dead pixels, they need to have a tolerance in their manufacturing so that they can produce them on a scale cheap enough for you and I to afford!

Such proper grammar! I applaud you.

I'm also typing from my brand new 20" iMac. I must say, this keyboard is gorgeous but it's going to take me awhile to get used to the light feel of the keys.

:D I can't believe this huge monster in front of me is really mine!!!

Still waiting for my shipment to be plugged into Same Day Right Away's shipping database.

My Mac showed up as "shipped" on Saturday (May 21) exactly 1 week after we ordered it from apple.ca (on May 14).

Any Canadians have experience with Same Day Right Away?

Mine shipped from Apple on the 19th and I'm still waiting for Same Day to put it in their database. I have talked to them and they say that it usually takes about 5-7 business days before an order is entered into their database. Often the item is already delivered by then though

Wow, that's beyond silly.

I'm not sure who to be upset with:

- The courier who doesn't seem to have the capability to log the package as soon as they get it it.

OR

- Apple, who obviously are using the cheapest courier they can find. I would have paid extra if I could have tracked the order.

So it arrived, after exactly 3 weeks.
2 stuck pixels...
But I guess it's my usual luck. :(

Gave in - ordered stock 20". Ordered Wednesday morning; just off to pick it up from the TNT depot now. Still in shock. Two days? Looks like Apple got the stock levels right this time.

Wow your lucky. Mine has already been 2 weeks and the anticipation is killing me. Mine was BTO though.

My Airport Express and printer did arrive though. At least I had some new toys to open. :)

Hi

I finally got confirmation that my 17" 2GHz has been ordered. I had to order through a crappy retailer as I get it free for being dyslexic. So should have it in 2 weeks or so......

Whilst I realise that the iMac is by no stretch of the imagination intended as a gaming computer, I do like to play the occasional game, and was wondering if anyone could tell me about their first hand experiences of playing games on the Rev B and how it handles it.....

In any case, it'll be quite a step up from my G3 233MHz beige desktop :D

I went for the "Treat Yourself" promo as well - took a week to get confirmation and for the order to start processing. The only explanation for how fast mine was shipped is that they must have started processing the order in the background before MBNA released the funds. Nice one Apple.
