Go back and read for comprehension. I didn’t say “Apple needs to do a big event to sell Metal.”

What I said was Apple needs to get them all together, basically lock the door after, and ask, “What the **** do you want us to do to help you? Give us your suggestions.”
I read it just fine, thanks! Again, if Apple asks game devs, they’re going to ask Apple to reinstate OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan, et al. and Apple’s reply will be Metal is the way.
It’s moot anyways, Apple isn’t to hold a summit or ask them what they need to do to help them.

Correct. But we are also on the same side here. We want easy squeezy lemon peasy porting processes. Apple, for whatever reason, is not trying to do this!

Hence the conference idea. Apple needs to know they are screwing the pooch here.

Because you can’t afford one? You wanted Apple to use Intel forever? Now you’re going to have to buy a Windows laptop? It’s one or the other or all three at once.

Apple moving to their own CPUs/SoCs was a done deal a long time ago…the writing was on the wall.
I really don’t care anymore, yes I know PA semiconductor and Apple wanting their own CPUS goes back to the days of 68k, PowerPC.. which these were not failures - the designs of those machines was cool as I still have an MDD G4, and G3. I just think N1 shoyjd be lower than Intel Macs in price. Yes, in Ukraine no one can afford an M1, while iPhone yes, iPad yes, iwatch yes.. but average Ukrainians make very less than most. We are poor nation as you know. Even though I work as security guard for Ukrainian govt, still not paid that high where I can buy an M1

Nope.

Apple in these days was all about as using as little custom HW as possible and if Motorola hadn't made it clear that the 68k would end soon they would never joined AIM as 3rd wheel.

This did change towards PPC->Intel switch and they bought PASemi but I'd guess that was more about future plans for iPhone then it was about CPUs for the Mac.

New Intel and Amd cpu is faster than M1 now, M1 is already something slow.
Unless you take into account power usage and battery life. But those chips are *NEW* so wait for the next versions of the M1 (not Pro and Max) and let's see where the architecture goes. It could limit out, or go in new directions.
