How is the weather out there?

How was Day 1?
Not been home long. A nippy -3 and snowy. But not that bad in all honesty.

First day was busy. Busier than the Saturday usually is. Frank Dorhof got a big crowd on our stand for the talks he did.

Not that I see any of the talks. A friend just posted a selfie of him with Thomas Heaton. I obviously didn't get to go. :(

Hopefully I might get 5 minutes to do a bit of shopping tomorrow or Monday.

Are you driving down in the morning?

Nice to meet both Apple Fanboy and Kenoh today - hope you had a good rest of the day. I need to sleep now!
Just got back to my hotel room! Kettle is on before a quick shower and out to eat.

Nice to put a face to a name or two.

Great day today. Superb fun! Got to wind some folks up. A good laugh all round.

All back safe and sound now. Was fantastic tovput a name to a few faces too.

...and yes, Nikon, spent some time trying to work out what it is that keeps people coming back for more. :)

About 6k worth of glass!

Great to see you today. Hope your landing back home was better than the one in brum.

Tomorrow will be a challenge. A few beers and a bailys means I'll be struggling tomorrow afternoon for sure!

Lol good luck and have fun today. Landing was uneventful. Flight up mind you, we had a few laughs with the cabin crew. In a rare moment, we discovered they were good for a laugh... so an hour of mischief took our minds off the flight. Innocent humour of course nothing naughty... Apart from encouraging the crew to poke fun at my brother in laws shirt....

Glad you got home okay. Hopefully your new Nikon kit survived the journey! ;)

Looks a bit icy out there, hope the trains are running okay. See you later! Anyone else going today?

It certainly icy. I stopped over last night in the Holiday Inn, so I've only got a 5 minute bus ride to work today.
It was a little quieter than usual yesterday, but I was surprised how many braved the weather.

No problems with travel at all from this direction, though one of the cross country trains to Birmingham was nearly an hour late because of "severe weather". Good to see you again! I hope Mrs AFB will have a nice big bowl of steaming water to put your feet in when you get home! :)

Certainly was an interesting walk back from the bus stop. An overloaded bag and a large cardboard box to manhandle a mile or so down slippery paths!

Good lad! what trinkets did you score?

I got a free set of screws and a pair of filter rails for my Lee Filter holder...

Just a few things from Fuji / Wex

Mostly funded via my various Canon Eos trade ins in the last few months. The 100-400 isn't for the new X-E3 - it's for my X Pro 2.

Nice! Took the X-H1 out yesterday and had the 100-400 on it... Fantastic bit of kit. Superb haul you have here. The X-E3 and 27 will be a great walk about kit

Now that sounds good! We had some quiche and salad from Tesco because I didn't know when I'd be back. :( Not bad but not in the same league! Maybe you put your feet in a bowl of hot water under the table? :)

I bought one of those too! Memory card that is :D I have an X-Pro2 and X100F but kept having a hankering for a first gen X-Trans sensor again and found a mint condition, ex-demo XP1 for £285 with free postage which arrived yesterday.

whats hiding in the white box under the memory card?

lol...

Special secret lens wipes and a lens pen. (wipes are probably pointless, but there were only £4 and I'd just saved a bit on the 100-400 so thought why not)

Not had chance to have a look at the 100-400 in any detail yet, I feel a trip to Birmingham Airport coming at the weekend. As for the X-E3, I've had a little walk around Birmingham City Centre at lunchtime...
