Here is what I'm currently focused on:

1. Does the game running on Steam auto update? I assume it does.

2. Regarding loot storage, has anyone verified if you can leave items on the street and they will not disappear.

3. Still looking for an equivalent of the Beautiful People mod from Oblivion for Skyrim. All leads appreciated. :)

1. yes. apparently it does.
2. yes. I have left stuff in the streets of whiterun, the wizards room in dragonreach and they're still there.
3. i have no idea.

Regarding #2...

I don't quite know about outside, but I did just "drop" some items on the floor of an inn (they were worth about 50 a piece) and I came back days later and they were still there.

Hope that helps.

But since then, I've bought a house and so I store everything in there.

Soul gems... to fill them you must use an enchanted weapon that captures souls. What I did is after I found the enchanted weapon that captures souls, I used it until it was almost empty (enchanted weapons can be used for only so many strikes then must be recharged). I then disenchanted the weapon to learn its behavior and enchanted a stronger weapon with soul capturing enchantment. make sense? I can't recall where I found my enchanted weapon. It was on my journey so you'll probably stumble upon it at some point.

Thanks guys! :)

Regarding Vampirism I apologize for spreading bad info earlier today. I have corrected post #221 with the following:
Important EDIT: This information has to do with dealing with Vampirism after you are a Vampire. Not after you have contracted the disease and before becoming a Vampire. You can drink a cure disease potion or visit a shrine to cure yourself... according to the game guide, you have 3 days to cure yourself. This info has been added to the MR Skyrim Game Guide.

Only one weapon :s I thought there was a few to find :(

What weapon is this and is there more than one I wonder? Some research is warranted. I'll start here: ESWiki.

You can Purchase the spell tome Soul Trap from one of the Jarl's court wizard's, or at the Mage's college at Winterhold. When you use soul trap on an enemy, and they die within 60 seconds, their soul is trapped inside a soul gem. Black soul Gems are the only one's that hold Human souls I believe. you can also enchant weapons with soul trap, you just have to find one with soul trap already enchanted so you can disenchant and learn it first.

I made myself two daedric swords after having my smithing skill at 100. After drinking a blacksmiths potion which allows for 50% improving coupled with a gold ring, a jeweled necklace, dragon armor, and dragon gauntlets all with improve smithing enchantments of 20% I was able to increase both Deadric swords to 248 weapon damage. Mind you this is also having one hand at 96. I also enchanted another necklace and ring with improve one hand 40%. now I can kill everything but dragons in one swing from one sword. If I fight a dragon I bust out both swords and take him out with two swings. its almost too easy now

oh i'm sure there are a few to find. i just needed one to learn the enchantment.

There are many out there or you can enchant your own. The enchantment itself is called "soul trap". There is also a magic spell you can use by the same name. When cast at a target you have 60 (I believe it's 60) to kill the target to capture their soul.

Enemy souls come in different sizes. Humanoid souls can only be captured in black soul gems. Just FYI.

I don't remember the names they use, but they can be random weapons enchanted with Soul Trap.

Although I haven't found a random sale or drop for the Fiery Soul Trap enchantment, one does exist, which does 10 points of burn damage, plus soul trap, all in one enchantment. My paladin uses it on his mace, but I dropped the Soul Trap duration to 1 second to boost the number of charges.

There are very few weapon drops/sales that carry 2 enchantments, generally they only have 1. Once you get your enchanting to 100 and purchase the last perk you can dual-enchant items and this creating it yourself.

Fiery Soul Trap is one enchantment. Just like you can get robes that both decrease casting cost and increase mana regen. It's still one enchantment.

With the double enchant perk, you can enchant a weapon with fiery soul trap and something else, such as shock. The weapon will then do 10 pts fire damage, plus both soul trap and shock damage. The duration/magnitude of the latter two effects scale with enchanting level. The fire damage does not.

Double effect single enchantments (eg. fiery soul trap, or Fortify Destruction + Magica Regen) have one effect that's constant, and one effect that scales with skill. So at low enchantment skills they are useful, but detrimental at high skills.

As far as I know, Fiery soul trap is very rare, but there is a weapon as special loot from a particular cave (you can google it) which is where I got mine. Normal soul trap can be found on weapons every now and again for purchase or random loot.

Ya I knew about the magic robe ones but I've never come across the flame soul trap before. Lol 100+ hours and I haven't seen it

Got a rogue lvl 23. Using dagger for close combat and a bow for range.

I read a few replys about how hard it is to kill a dragon with a rogue.
Its definitely not. I am using my bow while they fly or stay still to attack me and when they land i use my dagger and the dragon is done.

Yesterday i killed 2 giants and 3 mammoths at their camp. But only because of my hiding skills and x30 multiplier. 2 Hits and the giant is down and my bow for the mammoths.

Caves are very easy, because enemies never get a chance to see me.

My sneak skills are 75 but my bow and 1h are both about 51. Works flawlessly for me. Only problem are random ice trolls - they **** me usually

Using the armor from the dark brotherhood and non pimped 16dmg daggers.
Playing on default difficulty. Maybe i should turn it harder.

ps: i never use potions.

2. Regarding loot storage, has anyone verified if you can leave items on the street and they will not disappear.

One of the "hints & tips" screens states items left in non-owned locations aren't guaranteed to be there when you get back. In my experience though, items (and bodies) persist a very long time, if not permanently.

Possibly the one exception are dragons bodies, which seem to disappear quite quickly (possibly so they don't block the roads!), or in some cases just move hundreds of yards. I've also noticed dragons skeletons flailing around quite a lot when I revisit the scene of their death, which is a bit weird...

On another note: what difficulty are people playing on? I (somehow) started on Master and found it was just too tough to be fun, so dropped down one.

After being the Harbinger of Companions guild, I store the dragon bones and scales on the old Harbinger's room, in Whiterun. I hope the game considers this room as "owned by me" now. At least the bed says so (I can sleep on it).

Hope they don't disappear when I go and retrieve them to make my dragon armor, cause I have long way to go until that :p

possible spoilers.

Was getting frustrated being a Vampire and went and got the black soul crystal from Falion. Charged it with a soul, and went back to him to cure me, and the game won't load / trigger the next step. Arghh.

Went and re-loaded an old save. Lost a good 4 hours of gameplay - but no longer am I a vampire.

Anyone else got to bonechill passage yet ? Did it always crash out for you there too ?

I also found a large gate towards the bottom of the Skyrim map, up some mountains and can't seem to open or get over to that side. Possible expansion pack area ?

That's freaking neat.

Gawd, my life has been sooo busy after work that I haven't had time for any Skyrim playing. It makes me wanna scream.

I can't wait for Christmas break. Wish I had the computer version and a laptop, then I could take it on break with me.

Dang xbox, lol.

It could be (and this is purely speculation, so obviously not a spoiler) that at some point in either DLC or in Skyrim itself, you can fly atop a dragon. And if so, they'd need to have some scenery beyond the mountains even if you can't fly there. Of course, that still wouldn't explain why the path and gateway are there. Other than, you know, the fact that it makes sense for there to be a road between two adjoining provinces.. ;)
