After being the Harbinger of Companions guild, I store the dragon bones and scales on the old Harbinger's room, in Whiterun. I hope the game considers this room as "owned by me" now. At least the bed says so (I can sleep on it).

Hope they don't disappear when I go and retrieve them to make my dragon armor, cause I have long way to go until that :p

It is suggested to purchase the house and store the bones to the chest in the owned house. You can sleep on the beds which do not belong to anyone, or their former owners are dead. But that does not mean the beds belong to you.

Goodbye Life!

Lovin this game! Runs great on my system. Here's a few pics of my mid level toon and pos Lydia takin it out and mixin it up.

I got my Naga mouse up and running. It is convienent and makes accessing favorites easier, versus having to hit a number on my laptop keyboard, although I'm still unhappy about the in-game control mechanism. The Oblivion spell wheel was the best. Skyrim SUCKS in this regard. It's real easy to blame the console port theory, which may be true. I realize as I get into spells, I'll be looking at macros (combination of spells). In Oblivion you could kick the s*** out of most adversaries with combo spells. It was awesome!

The official Prima Strategy Guide has lots of info, really good quest coverage, but in many cases online sources have just as much info. I'm playing this on my laptop, and have my desktop available to pull up fast game related info such as where to find such and such.

And I've only made it to Whiterun. (What's the rush?) When I started in Riverwood, I picked up a quest there to get the Golden Claw and before going to Whiterun, ran the Bleak Falls Barrow dungeon and cleared it out. Then to my surprise, I got a quest in Whiterun to go back there and pick up the Dragon Stone (location of all Dragon Mounds). I was really concerned that the dead Draugr that I killed first time through would still be there. Of note the first time through he did not have the Dragon Stone on him. It was only after I picked up the quest that it appeared. Imagine. ;)

My question- any advice on which side to choose in the Civil War between the Empire and the Stormcloaks?

You get better rest if it is a bed you own and the best rest is when you have your spouse sleeping with you...accept I thought that did not necessarily mean you'd get the best rest? Anyone heard of a afternoon delight addon? ;)

Just added some instruction in the MacRumor Guide on creating screenshots. Really the easiest manner is to hit F12 (Steam) however if you want to get rid of the HUD you have to open the console and type a command which IMO can get in the way of action shots.

Started over last night, and played for just a bit. When I went to save, and shut the console down, I noticed that all my previous saves were still there eventhough I started a "new" game. Should I have completely deleted all of the game data before starting over? Do you think there will be a problem?

My previous experience indicates that for many games, when you start a new game, all of the old saves are retained. It is not a problem other than the space they take up. If you don't want them, go to whatever page it is, I believe the save/load page and there will be an option to erase the old saves. Or go to MyDocuments>MyGames>Skyrim>Saves and batch erase them there. Just be sure to save the ones you need. :)

Hmm...you got me worried now if this means that my hard earned dragon bones and scales might get lost. Although technically being the new harbinger means it is my room now. At least, since I can take anything from this room now and won't be considered as stealing. Then again, getting the house might worth it.

I took the same path, but I did find the Dragon Stone on the first attempt. I was impressed they even had a piece of dialog for "Oh, you have it already?" ;)

I'm at level 32, and yet I've still to visit the East or West sides of the map, or to see 3 of the cities and most of the towns. I'm beginning to realise just how much I dither and procrastinate.. "Oh, there's a dragon attacking up there? I think I'll save that for later, maybe wander down this sidepath and see what's there instead"

I'm undecided too, so staying out of it. The more I learn, the more both sides seem a little evil. I'm going to have to decide soon, as there's one discussion about it that's repeated over and over in one of the castles and it's starting to do my head in! :p

Yeah I figured out how to hide my HUD after a few shots in. Kinda sad the first ss I posted has the UI still showing, it was one of my favs. In the second batch I managed to get a shot of a giant right as he started to notice his impending doom approaching from behind. Good times! Looking forward to getting my smithing up to Ebony, I might post some more shots once I'm in my new set of armor. Hello Iron Dagger exploit!

I say f&@! the empire, those a$$hats were ready to chop off my beautiful mug!

Ha love that. Giant heading to get ya then bam a shot of ice to his face. The dragon looks like it was trying to be sneaky behind the giant.

I have not chose a side for the civil war yet.

I just bought a house in solitude and now need to get all my stuff moved from whiterun to that house. So many dragon bones and hides. Gonna be walking slow to get to horse then fast travel then walk slow to the house.

For the slow walking parts I just use the "Whirlwind Sprint" dragon shout. It allows you to cover great distance really quickly AND it has a short recharge time.

Slick! It saddens me I havn't thought of this earlier, heh. I've been using the companion npc command exploit to get around their carrying limit so I can use them as pack mules.

It's not super far to get to horse I guess so that could be a great option. Never really thought about that.

Ya I use whirlwind pretty much everywhere. Even just running around Whiterun or Solitude. It makes traveling via foot much faster

Hmm. Well, I must have not seen it somehow... I guess I'm not surprised. ;)

You know how they tell you, THE MAIN QUEST, THE MAIN QUEST, you gotta get it done yesterday!! Eh, yeah sure. It's probably just like the Oblivion Gates opening (in Oblivion), "oh there's a gate. It can wait a bit." :p

I'm undecided too, so staying out of it. The more I learn, the more both sides seem a little evil. I'm going to have to decide soon, as there's one discussion about it that's repeated over and over in one of the castles and it's starting to do my head in! :p

More research is in order. :) What I want to know are the long term ramifications of picking a side. Maybe there is a link. Or maybe just take a chance and pick a side. I'm kind of liking the rebels.

I say f&@! the empire, those a$$hats were ready to chop off my beautiful mug!

Hmm, a non-complicated argument... :p

Which exploit is that, an addon by chance? If you played Oblivion they had a saddle bag addon which turned your horse into a walking shipping container. :)

Normally if you trade items with your companion npc through the dialog tree, they will appear grayed-out in your inventory when the item's weight is beyond their carrying capacity. However, if you place the items on the ground, and holding down the activate key outside of talking distance over your npc, it will open the command option which is indicated by a pulsating X, then tell them to pick up the objects by moving the X over each of them. They will pick it up even if it pushes them over max capacity, and your npc will still move full speed after! As you have to tell them to grab each and every item, it works best on picking up limited numbers of your heaviest items.

Added this to guide under cheats... :)

I don't buy into this theory, I had Oblivion on the 360 and it had the spell wheel.

that's freaking neat.

Gawd, my life has been sooo busy after work that i haven't had time for any skyrim playing. It makes me wanna scream.

I can't wait for christmas break. Wish i had the computer version and a laptop, then i could take it on break with me.

Dang xbox, lol.

at least you get a xmas break!
I laughed and cried.... i miss this game so much.

I played on the PC. I think I remember accessing the spell wheel on the fly And I did not have to assign it to a hand which is an extra encumbrance. The spell wheel was smooth and (again as I recall) you could stay in game while selecting your next attack. Come on, if you know a spell you know a spell. Having to assign it to my left or right hand is just a game mechanic that takes away from the experience imo.

Can you give your Follower gear upgrades- if so link?

I'm looking for good Class build, specifically Mage Builds. The Official Guide (unless I've overlooked it) has jack on Class builds... (no offense JackAxe) ;)

Thanks!

I thought you could just put the armor in their inventory and they will equip it?

(I don't use followers with this time around. Hard to sneak around with them. Plan to make mage build next time with follower.)

This, although it can be glitchy. If you give a follower a weapon/armour that is better then they already have then they will equip it, although dual handed specialists will often ignore good one handed weapons in favour of a poorer dual handed weapon and vice versa, light armour specialists can ignore heavy etc.

(I don't use followers with this time around. Hard to sneak around with them. Plan to make mage build next time with follower.)

What should happen is that you follower will be spotted and attacked but not you allowing for some excellent sneak attacks.
