Looking forward to seeing what is actually released.

I would really like a purple s24 ultra but my finances are taking a beating in the new year so unless I can find another sweet deal like I got with Google Fi last year then I am going to have to skip.

Of course the s23 ultra is a great phone and will be for a while. I am most curious about how the titanium holds up compared to the aluminum armor. I almost feel like the titanium is a downgrade because it will scratch easier than aluminum armor. But it should look nice. I am curious about the camera array and AI features. A flat screen on the ultra would also be welcome but unlike the s22 ultra which had some issues with the QC 8 gen 1 the s23 8 gen 2 has been a huge success. So this year Samsung has to do more to entice people to upgrade.

Here in the UK, Samsung are offering us a £50 discount code, a free case and screen protector when registering to watch the event online. We are also being offered a free Galany Watch 6 when pre-ordering. We now also have the Samsung store app available for the iPhone and iPad (Via the App Store).

Unfortunately it seems like it’s the 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 freebie. No use to me at that size otherwise this would have been a big carrot for me with the 44mm. There is always a but with Samsung. Argh!

Maybe they will offer a discount to jump to the 44m, It's a nice little freebie for those of us in the UK, I don't remember Samsung offering that for the last few years. There's also rumours they will be offering a free storage upgrade, order the 256 and they will give you the 512, if that's also true it will be a nice bunch of freebies this year for us UK lot.

Galaxy Watch 6 free
£50 off when registering
and a free storage upgrade

That's great in my opinion. That's before I use the 5% off on top from using the app for the first time.

That looks like a nice deal for the phone. I'm still clutching to a Note 20 Ultra (from release). Honestly, the performance is fine and I'm surprised the battery hasn't had any issues. That's almost 3.5 years old. I might just finally upgrade.

i would no doubt sell it regardless as i will never part with my apple watch but i imagine could get a decent amount for it selling it privately.

i would rather have the free storage and samsung care to be honest. or buds or even a tablet discount

It's the best deal I think we have had in the UK from Samsung, if I'm not mistaken? also the deals when registering (free screen protector and case) plus £50 off.

If I do end up pre-ordering, my plan is to use my Apple Watch Ultra with my iPad Pro, since I have Apple Fitness+ I kind of need to keep the Apple Watch Ultra around. But then as my everyday watch, I'll use the free Samsung Watch 6. My iPhone will be given to a family member.

2. Android or oneui or both have these "switches" where all I see is an on/off switch. Fine, cool, easy right? but no because some of them are straight on/off but some of them have options behind them but with no indication that they're there! This meant that I would look and see notification category "new emails" turned on but if I clicked into the switch then another screen of options appeared including things like "show in popup" which was sometimes off and explained why my notification experience was inconsistent.
THIS I can attest to.

While I'll agree - for me the Galaxy Watch 6 at 40mm doesn't work for me, and yet if there is no bump with a discount to get the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm (WiFi) model ... then I'd take the 6 Classic at 40mm and SELL it to provide the extra dinero for the one I'm after.

Discounts and Trade-ins at Samsung is seriously incredible and stellar in the industry.
You can NEVER get that with Apple; they cannot think that way.

Good thinking. I have registered for the event, but so far i’ve not had my code for the £50 off.

The Galaxy Watch is a nice touch, even if people like yourself sell it. It’s still a discount because you are making money back. I might keep the free Galaxy Watch 6 if it’s not too small and the battery life is good (At least as good as Apple Watch).

I'm definitely in on the S24ultra, I hope for double storage. I have the galaxy watch classic 6 so if I "have to" get a free watch I'll be selling it.

It's still more freebies/discounts than I ever got from Apple.
Exactly!

I like Apple but sometimes the cost really makes me ask if it is worth it.

No company gives two $hits about any of us other than money so I have no illusions about any of them.

That being said, Samsung has been more than fair with me over many years as a customer. I have as a repeat customer been able to own new devices I otherwise couldn't afford because of higher than market trade in values on my used Samsung devices. No other company has offered me better deals consistently and that makes a big difference in my purchase decisions.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything free from apple….

I got a free 1st gen iPod Shuffle 512 ages ago (white USB stick).

No other freebies from Apple other than wholesale replacemnet of everything besides display on 12" 2015 m3 512/16 GB (that I still use for LR 6.14 photo viewing when out & about!) and 2017 i7 512/16GB that I bought used and sold for $200 more a couple of years later.

I got a free bumper case from Apple for my iPhone 4. This was after they told me I was holding it wrong......and that was why it would lose cell service.
Ah I just posted that. I can’t remember having the issue but I sure as hell got my free bumper case lol

Come on people. Apple gives gift cards away for free. That is about it. And you are lucky if you get them.

I got an edu discount on a MacBook Air with a free $150 gift card. I got a similar discount and $100 gift card when I got my 5th gen iPad air.

$250 from Apple for free. Not bad. You can get some freebies from Apple every blue moon but they do occasionally give them on some devices at some times.
