For anybody who has been a long time iPhone owner, have any of you actually been able to stay away when you’ve changed to android? I’ll admit, I want to but never manage it
I'm still getting along quite well with just my S24+. Had it since launch and sold my 15PM about a month after that. For longtime iOS / iPhone users (I am one of those) it takes a *very* long time to completely adapt. Now that I'm 4+ months in I am 100% satisfied with my switch to Android. I'm cheating a little bit, I use a Mac Mini that is connected 24/7 at my office to use iMessage with BlueBubbles. Other than that I am completely out of the Apple ecosytem and haven't missed a beat.
Handling my wife's iPhone has become cumbersome. I miss keystrokes all the time because the S24+ keyboard is so much more responsive. We're currently abroad in China and translation using WeChat / Google translate happens per keypress as I type. On the iPhone you need to type the whole sentence and then it translates. Google live translate is a Godsend for me here, also faster than iPhone. AliPay and Didi integration for transit work perfectly for me and I was up and running the day after we arrived. My wife, who is Chinese, still can't use Didi because it is different (apparently) on her iPhone and giving us fits. Could be user error, who knows.
I've taken tons of photos and videos. The pause recording feature on my S24+ is so useful. I could go on and on. My point is longtime Apple users really need to give it at least 3-4 months *without* using your iPhone as a crutch or back up. You can't truly gauge the experience by dual wielding, something I've always done until now.
I find the opposite my spare IP15 PM face ID is super annoying having to lift the phone up every time. My Fold 5 fingerprint sensor is far more convenient for my usage with work apps and works flawlessly with all my different banking accounts etc
I guess its what your use to
I agree. Face ID is more cumbersome because you have to swipe up to get home. By the time my wife swipes up on her phone I'm already into whatever app we are trying to use on my phone. She's already given up on several occasions and wants me to just press my fps to use my phone.
Password managers are a real chore on Android compared to iOS at initial setup, but once configured properly it works 100% of the time. Banking apps all work flawlessly for me as well.
