I'm a little biased on the first two since I wrote them, but I do use them more often than most apps I own. I did write them because I wanted them.

Fit Phone <- First workout log in the store and still updated regularly
Pet Phone

Apps I didn't write but are still good :)

Grocery IQ
Zenbe Lists <- simple lists that sync to a website
facebook
USA Today <- Best news app, by far
Now Playing <- use it mostly for the netflix queue management
Air Sharing <- Very handy for getting files onto your phone. I used this when I went to Europe to add maps of Barcelona and Italy so I didn't have to use international roaming.

I'm much more into "useful" apps instead of the joke apps. But Wobble is a pretty funny/cool app.

the ones i use the most

i have used many different apps, and know that it depends on what you want, not what others find good.

for a sports scores etc app, get sportstap
weather app, the weather channel
news app, get ap mobile news network
vnc app, the best is jaadu, but if u dont want to pay then get vnc lite

also if you're going to get a text editor, i highly recommend writeroom

other must haves are facebook, air sharing, or something similar, ebay (if you have an account) bank of america (if you have an account) and graphing calculator. those are all free cept for air sharing.

now as for games, the only racer you will ever need is asphalt 4, and need for speed when it comes out. ishoot is insanely addicting, and monopoly is good for long flights etc. super monkey ball is one of the best games out there, and cube runner is a must have. for a brickbreaker game, the best is superball 2. if youre gonna get a sniper game, then shooter is pretty good. if you were considering x-plane, wait for x-plane racing to come out.

oh, and if you are looking for a way to edit documents on your phone, then dont pay for ANYTHING yet. trust me i have searched, but there isnt a true one out there yet. i hear documents to go is about to come out tho.

I much preferred Fastlane over Asphalt 4, and I'd therefore recommend Fastlane as the best racing game.
