So, vote with your wallet.. refuse to buy this version of the iPad. Those who have already purchased one and are unhappy with yours, sell it and put the money toward something else.

If you just want to throw it away, give it to me. I don't care if it's bent.. so long as it works. I can't afford an iPad right now and would happily take one that has cosmetic issues.
Way to play into Apples mentality that some consumers will happily accept ipads with bends. Although in your case only if its free right?

Is it wrong for people who actually want to own the 2018 ipad pros to use their consumer voice to make it clear to Apple that bent ipads are unacceptable and they should address it?
Why should the only options be to not buy/own it?

They gave out free bumper cases after antenna gate. They improved the iphone 6s build after the last bend gate. They upgraded the macbook pro keyboards after keyboard gate. Apple can make this right either through better manafacturing or by properly supporting their customers if issues arise. Right now it looks like they are pushing customers back by suggesting that a visual/physical defect is not a defect. This is going to knock consumer confidence.

Only by talking about this on forums and social media do these stories make it to the press which then puts pressure on Apple.

I it’s More the media that will put pressure on apple not really what’s said on here.
Some media outlets are using macrumors as their source so it can all start here and should as we have real world consumers reporting their stories. In this case I believe the story did start on this forum.

Soliciting a prescribed response doesn't work with me.

No. The vast MAJORITY of people have ZERO issue with the new ipad pros. And yes, that makes it an anomaly. Besides, anyone who wants to return one of the new pros for a refund or exchange can. There is no issue. You make it sound like every ipad out there suffers from this issue when the complete opposite is true.
To be fair, the vast majority of people probably haven’t checked to see if their iPad was bent out of the box, and since it’s often subtle and not detectable when the device is in a folio, there could be a majority who have bent iPads and have no idea (and don’t care). We don’t actually know how many bent iPads are out there, we only know that a minority of buyers are reporting issues (because the only ones paying attention to “bendgate” and checking for bends are tech fanatics).

Maybe so and maybe if it was noticeable it would bother them. Many will see it that the product works for what they need it for and if you can’t tell without obsessing over it then it’s not an issue.

Mine has a slight bend that I would not know about if I weren’t in this forum all the time. I’m not returning it because it doesn’t impact functionality and my iPad is otherwise perfect.

I don’t think that he denied that there’s an issue. His logic is simply that his is fine, so therefore not every unit is bent. If you have one that isn’t bent, no problem. If you have one that is, return it and get a different one. Where’s the flaw in that logic?

I can understand why people are upset by Apple’s unapologetic nature. It’s “you’re holding it wrong” all over again. But the problem is easily remedied for those that it affects.

You logic is also flawed.

By your logic, if 99% have issue and 1% don’t have, then you don’t consider it as a cross board issue since not every unit is bent.

I can’t believe there are so many nitwits having logic problem.

No need for name calling. The definition of “across the board” is literally, “applying to all”.
Feel free to look it up.

Apple consider you as the tolerant customer (easy money one) who can save them money.

OK. Lets say you made one mistake in your life and suffered, most of time your are fine. Across the board of your life, you are a loser by your logic. Will you take that?

Um, no. That doesn’t fit with what I said at all.

My logic is simply:
- the bending issue clearly doesn’t affect all units since some people have unbent ones.
- across the board means applying to all.
- therefore, it is not an across the board issue.

Which point do you disagree with

Apple likely considers their customers as normal or difficult. Just like most of us consider the people around us normal or difficult.

You act as if we have some sort of responsibility to go out of our way to make life hard on Apple. IMO that’s a sign you spend too much time obsessing about a company. I’d rather spend my time doing things I enjoy. So, you do you. Otherwise, I’m happy to tell you where you can stick your judgment.
