New Verizon customer here. Ordered on 10/27 in the afternoon. $0 down payment. Got an email for Fraud protection on the 28th. SG 256GB still 12/13 ESD. Still ... no updates. o_O:apple:

Checked Sprint's website has stock with 11/17 delivery date, but I have to pay around 150-250$ down....

Does anyone have any idea if it's better to order through apple.com with Verizon device payments or directly through Verizon? I don't really understand what the difference would be?

Does anyone know if they always ship two phones in the same order together, even if one might be in stock before the other? I'd rather get them both together, but it doesn't matter a lot.

They do not. Ordered 256 SG and 256 S. Silver arrived 11/14. SG shipped today for delivery Monday.

Order 256 SG 11/27 around noon EST. Original ship date 12/6. Card charged last night. Shipping info has not been updated yet. Should be here in a few days! :)

Shipping info received. Expected Monday 11/20.

Both work equally the same. However, if you're doing a trade in, then you would have to go inside the Apple Store.

10/27 order around 3p. Shipping date 12/13. 256 Silver and 256 SG.

Saw date change to 12/6 then 12/1 in the same day. Back to 12/13 this morning. Anyone had this happen?

First day of shipments I saw my ship date go away and come back several times...but the date has never changed...which makes me a bit pissy toward Verizon. We know its coming sooner, but they keep referring to 12/6 regardless of reduced ship times as announced by Apple, and people ordering several days later getting the same ship date.

And btw...no movement on my SG256 ordered 10/27 at 12:30 PM EST. No CC charge, no change on Verizon.com...no nothing. Being patient.....

Woke up this morning...still no activity on my preorder...no CC charge...no new info on Verizon.com...put in 10/27 12:30 PM EDD 12/6. Checked istocknow.com...lo and behold my local Apple Store showed stock on the phone...SG 256 MB. Double checked on Apple.com...it said Pick Up Today...amazing!! Got to the store right when they opened, set a reservation for an hour later...the Apple greeter girl explained that this tied me to an in-stock phone...long story short...walked out 90 minutes later with my phone. Called Verizon...cancelled the pre-order, Apple salesman set it up on the Verizon device payment plan, and I'm currently restoring my backup. I have the X in hand!! BTW I think the Pre-Order process became a joke...Verizon needs to update ship dates with new information so I can actually believe the Pre-Order means something...when people ordering today end up with the same ship date that I got when I ordered on 10/27 then the pre-order becomes meaningless. Also istocknow.com is now showing none at the Apple Store...so stocks go fast. Anyway here it is:

I saw some stock in there as well. Up until 10 AM then it disappeared. I’m thinking I’ll go into the store and get mine. I’d have to open a new account and port my number. Not sure if they’ll be too complicated fir them. Also, when I spoke to Apple Support they told me they don’t hold or do reservations. Congrats though!

No, you have to go to the store to get the reservation. The greeter at the door sets it up...you can't do it over the phone.

Also it seems they can do anything that you need from a Verizon perspective...I didn't think they could handle my Verizon Device Payment Plan, but they did it there.

I did the reservation for mine on the web site. That is how I was checking if store had - checked first thing in am - they had one and I did the whole reservation thing right then - went to pick up and it was "easy" . There was a line at the store for those who hadn't done the online reservation thing.

This further underscores that Apple themselves are monopolizing more and more of the stock of new devices for their own stores and online.

The carrier stores which were once the destination for launch day devices are now being left in the cold for pre-orders. Hence why very few of the carriers (in person and online) have stock and people are finding better luck at Apple store. The pre-orders from direct carrier stores are a becoming a joke anymore.

Oh cool...I didn't see that option and took the chance that they'd still have stock by the time I got there. There was no line for this phone, but as soon as the store opened, it was already full of people, so the online reservation is probably the best way. Luckily though, they had it and I'm out of the pre-order business at least until next year. I'll probably get suckered into again by then.

True for the immediate days and weeks post launch date. Not necessarily true for pre-orders though. I managed to pre-order my Verizon iphone X 256gb silver for launch day delivery on Verizon app on pre-order night before I could even get into the Apple store app. Once the Apple store app finally allowed me in, the Verizon phones were already pushed 3 weeks out. When I looked at the MyVerizon app, there were still phones in all colors and storage sizes available for launch day delivery. In addition, at 3am local time on launch day Verizonwireless.com had stock available for in-store pick-upon the same day. So Verizon was a good resource up until launch day, post launch day, I agree Apple is the way to go.

I found a store that had the phone I wanted and selected pick up. Was available today. Tried to check out and asked for my Verizon number (which I don’t have yet). Didn’t see the option for reservation. I’ll check again

Just to double check, the Verizon model is unlocked at full price and I have to just plop in a T-Mobile SIM?
