I don’t have a problem with valid criticism. I have a problem with only critical reviews being viewed as valid.

I think MKBHD’s review was pretty fair. He talked about disappointments and things he didn’t like, and also things he was impressed by, and those in the middle. I like iPhoneDo’s reviews for the same reason. He really takes the time to use the hardware and give really specific examples of why he says certain things.

There are others who are more towards the iJustine type, which has a place, but which I wouldn’t call an actual review, more of an excited explanation of features.

And on the other end of the spectrum are those who really dislike the way iPhones limit personalization (or whatever else they hate), so they are never really going to be fair in reviewing an iPhone. We have those in this forum too. They’re tiresome. I’m not a huge fan of the Android OS generally, but some of the phones are amazing, and should be lauded as such.

Unfortunately, some people make new accounts just to troll, so some posters tend to view complaint posts from newbie accounts with skepticism. It’s not really fair, but it’s life, and it’s not limited to online behavior.

MKBHD is good at saying the negative side like not a big deal and not mention much, then make a big story out of the selling points of a product.

In the age of the internet, it’s no surprise that people scour around and post negativity.

At the end of the day, do your own research and listen to the reviews that you feel reflect your views. No one is forcing anyone to buy the iPhone, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it! Imagine that, consumer choice.

I listen to a bunch of reviews, and none of them ever impede on my own judgement. The best reviewer is the person spending the money on it for themselves and forming their own opinion.
