Not so sure Xr adoption will be any better. The way I see it $749 isn't cheap and with so many compromises I'd rather upsell myself to the non-kiddy color Xs Plus with nicer build and finish or get last year's X on sale for the same price as Xr. Wouldn't be surprised if X outsells other models going forward and Apple probably realize this that's why they discontinued it.

No way bro, out of 10 people 7 would say they don’t give a crap about all the extras specially when the XR is just about the same. How ever it shakes out the XR will be more than 50% of iPhone sales this year.

So they will rethink what exactly? They're giving us crazy spec'd phones for the enthusiasts, including 512 of solid state storage and some amazing OLED screens. I hope they keep making products both at the ultra high end, and a mid range phone for those that prefer that price point.

Ya the cheaper X is definitely the star of the show. They had to kill it to be able to sell the XS at these prices. Unfortunately it will never happen but the Xr should have been $599 the X @ $799 the XS @ $899 and the XS Max at $999.

But even if they did that the XS would still sell horribly I’m sure. That’s why the X is gone.

I use to do the beauty of clicking a few buttons prior to launch day, until UPS loose my iPhone X by delivering to the wrong address. What a nightmare. Lesson learned.

I would choose to deliver to corner UPS store and pick up myself if given the option.

Me too, how do you confirm?
I placed two separate orders, first added a line and picked a phone, then second upgraded another line on my account.

There was no way to do both in one order, is that okay?
 
I did the 8AM pickup at my local store. There were probably 50 people there. It was cool going up, checking in and going right to the front of the line.

Rethink what? $1450 is what. I get it price goes up yearly for everything. $400 in 2 years is too much. And if Huawei can offer what they do for less so can Apple. 6gb of ram and a 4000 mah battery. Come on

There were no rumors of supply shortages. Most people who wanted to upgrade upgraded last year and there wasnt any reason to upgrade. IOS12 gave life to peoples old phones. The line waiters have matured and moved on from phones. You can order online now and just wait for it to get delivered, no chance of being stabbed or robbed at the Apple Store.
 
I don’t replace my other electronics every 2-3 years. My phone is now good enough that I can take the same approach there.

Apple has substantially given the people what they want. There is no single feature that would compel me to upgrade where I’m otherwise not ready.

What Huawei store are you going to bring your not working or cracked glass to get repaired same day? Or call/email for customer support. Mail it off to China to get a warranty repair?

Face ID development probably cost tens of millions in R&D; it aint "free." And hows that software updte support? Again iOS development isn't free its built into the price, unlike Android makers who slap a light skin on and may never update the OS as it's more $$$.

People can keep pretending they arent paying for more more than glass and metal cost (the $350 whatever it is in parts) in the price but you are.
 
I think the iPhone X series of phones are lame, but the length of store lines isn't a reasonable indicator of sales.

Ya but i am one of those that would rather make an 8am walk in time then wait till who knows when it gets delivered.

There was a mini line 9am at my Apple Store for people who reserved online.
 
At my local apple store ( Berlin, Germany) there was a line .. it was quite busy actually and even though I had the phone preordered I had to wait over 30 min in line...

I was at the TO store at 7am (for my 8am reservation). At 7am, there were already a good 40 people in line for stand-by. Thats more than the 8/8Plus and X launches last year.

I agree!. I hope sales are low so Apple can finally wake up from being so greedy. There's no way these phones are worth the sticker price. The only reason why I'm buying a XS Max Gold 256 is because of cash reward points I have from work that pays for the phone in full. Otherwise, I'd be on that XR like white on rice.

Man Face ID is faster, but I think the X was brand new as well.. lol let’s just see how this battery lasts.
Damn it I put my screen protector on to low.. doh..

Looks like I got a shirt case, doesn’t even raise up over screen..
