I don't know if Face ID is faster, but I am sure glad I waited on this years version instead of last year. I actually was resisting going with Face ID, but man this is sweet!

I got my glass screen protector on perfectly. I love these new ones with the frame. You just make sure the glass is clean and lint free. Place it in the front and push the center and wham! she just melds to the glass. It's smooth as a fat babies behind! LOL
 
I stopped half way through my 32 mile bike ride as they had great FREE coffee at my Apple Store In Naperville. UPS is delivering mine.

Had a friend who didn't preorder, walked in at 11AM and walked out before 12. I told my wife who was close to the Apple Store and she went in at 2PM and walked out at 2:45PM with a 256GB SPC Gray Max. I think anyone who didn't preorder will be fine this weekend.
 
Apple definitely over estimated demand or is just making sure there's enough supply for everyone that actually wants one for once. Either way I'm glad there aren't absurd shipping times and lines at the stores it seems.

i just did mine too, i put it on too low but oh well. Yes i had the frame too...Face ID is faster, but the X was like that the first month too....TIme will tell

Lets just say its a mix of price, and the 10R appealing to people. I could have walked into Apple, ATT and Best buy and walked out with one...

I met several friends at a football game tonight... I was showing them my iPhone XS Max... they all remarked how nice it was, of the 6 of them that I showed.. two have androids and 4 have iPhones and they are all either 6s, 7 and one with 8 Plus. The two with the 6s plus said they were waiting to upgrade to the XR and one of the android users said he is going to buy one as well, but not sure he will keep it. 8 Plus guy said he is holding tight for now and the 7 lady is undecided, but wasn't really thinking about upgrading. So it seems there are a lot of folks holding out until Oct to order the XR.

50-60% of iPhone sales this year should be the 10R
 
I stopped by the Apple Store around 2:30 pm and it was completely packed. Two lines outside the store - one for reservations, and one for walk-ins.

Sold out in stores in New York, talk to rep of one New York store and he said if pickup option is not available online that’s means stores don’t have it. That store where I called has non available. But certainly price is a big factor. With around $1200 I got 64gb and I have only little over 6gb left even with 200gb iCloud storage.
