I recently spent some time in the CA heat wave with my iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 17.0.3, it went great:
- Took a Facetime video call outside over cellular data in the sun, with Airpods in probably 90F outside. No problem at all - screen brightness was fine, phone did not get hot to the touch with a FineWoven case.
- Used my phone at the beach, no shade, to take photos and browse. Tons of direct sun. Eventually got a bit of brightness throttling, but nothing as bad as the 14 Pro that replaced it. Mostly worried about getting sand in places.
- Hot car, wireless CarPlay, noticed it was heating the phone cubby up a bit while the car was cooling down. No problem after the air conditioning kept up.
Obviously all of this is just anecdotal evidence, but if I hadn't been following this on MR and around the internet, I would have assumed Apple made the 15 strictly better than my old 14, which felt like it would limit the screen brightness when it saw a hint of sunlight.
