“Tons of reports” on websites. K.

You seem to exaggerate a lot. I’ve no doubt you’re exaggerating your own experience and that of the people you know whose phones are on fire.

A friend of mine worked for the Genius Bar some years back. He would tell stories about customers who came in claiming that their device became so hot it literally burned them and they wanted compensation. The devices almost never had a history of heat warnings, and no one ever seemed to be able to produce proof (photos, medical records, scars, etc).

Why?

Because they were being dramatic and wanted to find something to complain about.

I’ve no doubt your device has been warm. But your posts have been really intense, very emotional, and it all just seems beyond. It’s just very peculiar.

Wishing you luck in the future.
❤️ you!

Hang on, you made a whole bunch of claims like titanium was the issue and that Apple was going to throttle the A17 in an update, and dodged a whole bunch of questions about that repeatedly. Don't pretend to be interested in the truth of the matter.

When you run the 15 Pro in benchmark stress tests next to a 14 Pro, it doesn't get significantly hotter. So what would throttling down the A17 Pro achieve?

Benchmark stress test the 15 Pro next to a 14 Pro and it doesn't get significantly hotter. How do you explain that?

The mostly aluminium chassis radiates more heat out of the side rails than the stainless steel iPhones. But you said titanium has to go. How do you explain that?

The iPhone 15 with the same A16 chip from last year, and no titanium at all, suffers from the exact same random heating up issue. How do you explain that?

You were making all these claims and refusing to answer any questions. Can you answer them?
To answer this question doesn’t matter as I’m just some guy on an internet forum. That would be the criticism when I say anything - the same apples to everyone else here unless they identify themselves and their credentials. I never ran any benchmarks - did you? This guy had something to say:

Apple has already issued a statement confirming the issue and is addressing it. This discussion is basically over unless the software remedies don’t work. If it doesn’t work then the discussion is fluid again.

Literally put iPhone 14PM next to iPhone 15PM, one throttles one does not, both exact same config, loaded from scratch/reset.

Not subjective. Not exaggerated.

Sorry to burst your bubble that Apple is not perfect and we're all just drama queens.

Wishing you luck in the future with accepting the things that may contravene your own individual n of 1 experiences.
Let’s see the evidence then

Good point, I’ll give my virtual mouth a rest for now. 😁

Ok so you'll keep making more nonsense claims but completely refuse to answer any questions that refute the things you're claiming.

Astounding. Aren't you worried that anyone can just read your posts and mine and see what you're doing?

What make you think that Kuo guy has better idea than Apple about the subject?

If our real names and reputations were on the line then it would matter. But nobody knows who we are so who cares. I’m not even overweight, the Fat_Guy was as close to Phat_Guy as I could get in the early days. Arguing with shadows of real people is not fulfilling in the end. For what it’s worth, my best friends were almost all originally people I could not stand to be around.

Let Apple do its thing and then evaluate it and what it was not.

Haven’t felt my 15 Pro Max get warm once. Honestly. I wonder if it’s defective SoCs or something…
Apple themselves said it’s a software bug. I haven’t had any overheating issues on my 15 pro. Meanwhile my 14 pro got noticeably warm quite frequently.

About iPhone getting hotter. I really think it’s software and I almost sure it’s Contact Poster feature.

I thought that my 15 Pro isn’t affected but I found it is. It’s getting hotter only on phone calls and while creating or editing Contact Posters in Messages app.

I wish this were the case. I've tested this several times, but it seems to happen inconsistently with or without contact posters.

Personally, I care about being honest and trying to find out the truth. From what you're saying it seems like that's not the motivation behind your posts, and you fully admit that and just don't care because you can't be held accountable for it. Weak.

Let Apple do its thing and then evaluate it and what it was not.

Why pretend you're looking forward to "evaluating" anything when you've shown that you actually just want to further narratives about titanium being bad, and throttling from future updates being inevitable, and proudly ignoring all evidence to the contrary?

I solved the overheating problem during calls by installing 17.1 however I always suspected that the Poster feature also was to blame.
This morning I edited a few contacts by changing the poster and just after less that 10 it became very hot and lost 5 point of battery

There we go. The titanium frame is actually better for heat dissipation (obvious to anyone who actually tested it), there's nothing wrong with the cooling, the issue was iOS and apps, and Apple is not going to throttle the SoC.

Never before on this website and social media have I seen such unthinking pushing of misinformation and inaccurate baseless claims. I'm glad someone has finally, finally published a researched article about this whole debacle.

I'm coping by not having the issue, at all. Got my 15 Pro on Friday and I have felt literally no heat while using it, including using Instagram and playing games.
My 15 Pro Max gets warm (nowhere near hot, though) when I'm running the Antutu or 3DMark benchmarking apps, which is totally expected.

The entertaining part for me: I haven't purchased the 15 Pro or 15PM yet; I'm just here for the jokes. 😁

Not sure where this 'It's the titanium' thing started but that was BS from the start. It's software if it happens, mine does not get hot, the only time I feel any warmth is when I have the camera open. Playing Genshin doesn't even make much heat.
