Taking into account the fact that we have been treated to a non stuttery experience till iOS 9 this is normal
But we haven't. iOS 8.0 and 7.0 have all had issues related to animations and transitions that were more prominent to more people (among worse issues with actual stability, performance, and functionality).

That is REALLY bad! Even worse is that in the switcher, there is less lag on my iPad 3 (although it is there), even on an earlier beta! Spotlight still needs tons of work, though.

PS: I couldn't get these to upload in 60 FPS, but still, you can see the difference.
Yup, I see the that stutter. I cant believe someone working at Apple said "looks good, lets release it!"

If somebody quoted your video and says there's no lag at all, especially on spotlight—I really question my eyesight, mind, and sanity.

Why is this still going?
Yes, I watched the videos posted, and there's nothing worth worrying about.

It is a tiny portion of the visual flair that doesn't matter.
If there was some big rendering error that made the effects unsightly, I could understand, but some dropped frames or stutter is nothing to worry about.

Really?! Fluidity is as important a feature as things like Notification Center widgets or actionable notifications. It's about the fit and finish that adds to the overall feeling of quality while using the OS (or the lack of it that degrades that feeling). Can't believe some people actually think like this.

Um, what? Did you see the spotlight video I posted? There was like a 5 second delay there. That is not "nothing to worry about."

Its the reason most people hate Android for. Dropped frames and stutter are a sign of bad coding.

Seems like an issue, but not the frame drop one that many are talking about, and not one that people are mostly experiencing, thus that commentary was about something else and not an issue like that.

Most people don't hate Android. Most people don't have some really strong hate feelings to something technological short of having some truly horrific experiences with something, which is not related to frame drops or anything like that.

Do you actually think I have anger towards a piece of technology? This is getting off topic.

Just quoting you to say this is one of the few years ios 9 does stutter for me. The siri spotlight is worse actually.

Otherwise I have no big issues with lag or stuttering. Overall I like ios 9 - but yes there are some bugs like the one above I would like to see fixed. I also have two other complaints: Touch ID is not as fast or reliable, and since upgrading to 9.0.2 I just can't do an iCloud backup. I keep getting "backup failed". Boo. Good thing I back up through iTunes regularly.

Oh and just want to say I love your avatar, Peter Capaldi is pretty much my second (close second) fave Doctor.

Maybe your buddy needs yoga.

Apple should somehow figure out how to deliver a consistent experience across all of it's supported devices. And I can understand the comments if people feel IOS 9 was not as good as IOS 8, for them. But it's not a blanket statement across the board that IOS 9 is worse than IOS 8 in every use case; starting with IOS 8.4.1 wasn't the bees knees either, not that it wasn't usable by any means.

I still can't believe you continue to deny the countless videos proving iOS 8 to be faster than 9 in majority areas.Heck a scientific test was performed by Ars Technica and in all but Siri and Camera iOS 8 was faster

Don't forget JavaScript, why do you keep leaving that out.

Did you actually read anything about iOS 9. Since we're now into the "I'll quote my favorite website to backup my claims" cio for one has an article, "critics give iOS 9 a thumbs up". In the ars article, "iOS 9 thoroughly reviewed" you can look at the benchmarks yourself and draw a conclusion.

When have you given us any proof? Before shooting down everything we say… how about you come up with some proof saying iOS 9 is faster than iOS 8. So far, the only thing that I'VE seen that is faster, is Safari.

I just gave you a place to review in the Internet. Other than anecdotal evidence and serial app closing/opening I still haven't seen "proof" iOS 8 is faster.

Isn't your proof anecdotal too?

I couldn't care less if an app takes .2 seconds longer to load… what concerns me is the jerky animations and transitions. It totally ruins the look and feel of the phone. I know it still works and it's not unusable, but it's no longer a joy to look at.
