How long did Apple took to go from 32GB to 64GB? LOL

I just got the 2020 MBA and one of the reasons was because surprisingly Apple finally gave us 256GB standard.

I do get it, you can't hate them as it's business. Genius.

The real trick of 64GB base is to force you to upgrade your iPhone. One of the main reasons why the phone is slow is that there is too little remaining storage space. So when you gradually use up most of the storage space of your phone, you will have to upgrade your phone.

Or just delete some stuff.

Surprinsingly quickly.

iPhone 6 16/64/128

iPhone 6s 16/64/128

iPhone 7 32/128/256

iPhone 8 64/256

I still think they should've made 32GB base sooner. When you can't do an OTA update (either to iOS 8 or 9, iirc) because the update requires 5GB free space on a device that only has 12GB available to begin with (and app sizes have ballooned), "It just works" no longer applies.

I'd be curious how many 64gb Pro Max's they sell....

Unscientifically loosely based on the ratio of people that can still make 64 GB work on this website, I would say there’s probably still a fair amount.

Apple isn't making the base model just so people won't buy it and buy the version higher. That's just a silly conspiracy theory. I personally know people who bought the base model and like it. That's like saying if a car has what some might consider an under powered engine as the base they're only doing it because they want you to upgrade. That's just silly.
