If there are 4k blu rays there will be 4k rips. My Internet is fast I can download them in a few hours.

4k is the last value added last stand for content providers. The will try to extract as much revenue as possible from it. These days my even my mom gets everything from home go, Spotify, Netflix etc.

They will relent eventually and give us all you can eat ala carte on demand

I mostly want the 4k as a monitor. The room I will put it in is also my office. Editing photos at close to full res will be nice.

Even though it has been **somewhat** eclipsed by the D4, the D3s is still a formidable performer at higher ISOs, and a camera that I covet. I find it hard, though, to justify spending $3500 for a used camera with older technology.

In the meantime, my D700 does a very good job, so I can wait until used prices fall a bit:
