hey mate. I tend to not to keep up with all these new camcorders. There is just sooo many of them. I have actually played around with that Sony NX but I have not shot anything with it though. What I would look out for when buying a digital cam is firstly the codec. is chroma info important for ya? do you want 4:2:2 or 4:4:4? then its onto the codec itself. whats the bitrate? is it a consistent bitrate? intraframe or interframe? Sony XD cam looks just about the same as DVCPro HD and its a much more compressed codec. Then obviously comes the sensor size itself. TO be honest if I was in the market right now for these 1/3' camcorders I would go with either EX3 or HPX171. I used both and they have never let me down.
Just another year left, then a job and maybe some toys, nothing like these though!

SUV for the mountains - yeah, 2 of em, so when one is in the shop, I still have the other one to drive.
Condo, as I would like to live downtown and not worry about upkeep.
This one in downtown Seattle would do.
Then a great job nearby, within walking distance or short bus ride.

From reading plenty of articles and knowing people with them, Range Rovers are garbage. They are bad at off-roading and they break with normal driving/use. I'm not trying to offend anyone here if they own one, just sharing what I've learned.

i would really like it if i was able to afford one in about 20 years or so
My parents had one and it had its fair share of problems, but nothing too serious. Its just a matter of maintenance and not being afraid to turn a wrench. That said, I would make sure it was CPO'd or new so it was under warranty. I don't know about being bad off when taken off road, but for a snow/wet weather/mountain vehicle I would trust it.
So in that case I edited my original post.

But more than everything above I wish I could get this, a FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate. Got within about a week of getting my commercial pilots certificate and was planning to each other people how to fly and I had to stop due to medical reasons. Unfortunately I will probably never fly again
