Stainless steel, please, like a real watch! Think Omega or Rolex. Ti watches look dingy compared to stainless. Keep the Ti for golf clubs and custom bikes.

I didn't think the Ultra would be upgraded every year. The colors have grown on me over the year and I like it. I hope they can thin it out some - used to the bulkiness after wearing it so long, but wouldn't mind if they could make it smaller. I'll consider a new one if it has some major upgrade to it, but probably will hold off a year otherwise. I have noticed my battery capacity decreased some, but still is functional. I did a triathlon on Saturday and had plenty of power.

Apple really needs to step it up on the software side. The fitness app is lacking for runs compared to Garmin. Siri remains terrible, and forces me to get out my phone while running too often to change music.

Nah, I've been enjoying the hell out my gen 1 as is. One of my favorite Apple products of all time.... If the gen 2 is compelling enough then I'll just sell my gen 1 and get the gen 2.... In the meantime I didn't miss out on a whole year of enjoying the gen 1 just waiting for what might be next.
Everyone complained about the CPU, the lack of case colors etc. I am with you, it's the best Apple device I've owned other than my M1 MBA, in a long time. Got my Ultra on launch and have enjoyed it.

I bought the S4 Aluminum as my first Apple Watch. I added the Silver Stainless Milanese Loop band. I wore the first one out. The second one on the S7 was moved to the Ultra. I like the magnetic catch as it makes the band infinitely adjustable as my wrist size varies during the day. The silver color compliments the watch finish for me.

I do not want a drawer of different colored or pattern watch bands.

The Ultra is made of some upgraded metal so what ever the color is works for me.

I don't mind the colour, I'd just like to see it lose the orange accents.

I think Apple's use of orange here is purposefully done to make it instantly recognizable. It's a brand recognition thing like white AirPods.

While I can see them using black as the accent colour, I'd be surprised if they did this in year 2.

Hopefully it's just colors, lol. I won't need to upgrade for that. i would love to see an even better battery, better chip, screen blah blah, but then I may have to upgrade

As the owner of a black titanium Apple Watch 6 (special edition), I hope this proves to be the case. I have not upgraded my watch because I prefer black titanium. If Apple issues an Ultra in black titanium, I will upgrade. I would prefer a button color other than orange, though. (Too much like halloween).

I feel the same way. I wanted an ultra but I couldn’t stand how the matte (honestly cheap) looking titanium clashed with my wedding ring.
Interesting views. I have never had a watch that had so many people ask me about. The titanium finish and Ultra exclusive Wayfinder watch face make for a really nice looking combo.

Sweet, I'm up for an upgrade this fall. My sister got an Ultra and after she visited earlier this year I was getting used to the idea of the silver case. If a darker case is released, however, I'll probably go with that.

Would be nice if they had a DLC coating option. It's apparently nearly indestructible, while titanium isn't exactly scratch-proof.
DLC is harder than woodpecker lips, I have it on sev. competition pistols & it doesn't wear period.

This is why you always wait for the gen 2 unit. This will have the new less energy using chip, the same if not larger battery, a slightly different screen and slightly lighter weight. This is the rev 2 and the one most people will buy.
You do realize that apple typically uses the same processor for two years though, right? So a true 2nd generation wont happen until 2024.
