I'm trying to check something here. I know, that it is quite stupid but I was wondering if it is the older group that hates it and the younger ones that love the UI.

It will be interesting to see a trend here.

I am 21 years old, and I love Yosemite.
I am 63 and now just tolerate it. Still cheesed off that I had to up rate my macbook pro just to run it. For this reason I have not changed to Yosemite on my main Mac

37, graphic designer by trade. There are bits I like (transparencies are cool) and bits I hate (the non-skeuomorphic icons, buttons made of text and nothing else and flatness obsession). I've worked as a designer long enough to recognise World Wide Web circa year 1999 coming back and demanding its designs.

This. This is the problem I have with Yosemite/iOS 8 design. Just add Photos icon.

61 and like it OK.

I would prefer that we had more alternatives to changing the interface, as in days gone by.

And the Finder is like mid-90's crap. Aren't we past a files/folders/desktop metaphor, without having to use iOS? Something 21st century for a non-mobile computer?

I'm 63 and really like it. Most importantly my 2011 MBP loves it. It never like Mavericks but runs Yosemite better than any OS I've had on this machine.

52, I love Yosemite's UI. In terms of speed and reliability, nothing beats Snow Leopard, my all time favourite. Hope El Capital will follow in the footsteps of Snow Leopard.

I am 65, it cracks me up when younger generations expect us to have problems with computers or the web... we invented all of it.

Exactly, been doing computers since dos and was doing dial up bbs before the net.

Over 60 and like yosemite better than mavericks and earlier. Judging by the posts so far It looks like it's not an age thing, or maybe even more youngsters dislike it.

By like I mean the look, it's been a shaky run though especially before I put in an ssd. With a spinner it was unbearable.
