So are all of you selling your bigger phones, convinced you've made the right choice? I don't know if I should sell or hold onto my 11.

Already sold and shipped, though I've been using the 8 as a work phone at the same time while having a much larger personal phone. I'm 6'4 with pretty big hands and the smaller phone doesn't give me any issues.

No the SE is my backup now. I keep de 11 Pro. Battery life with the SE is not sufficient to me. I love the weight and one hand use of the SE.

You can get a Apple Battery case for the SE. Works great. It doubles (or more) your battery life.

I had it with the 7 and X. This is not a great solution. The battery case add two much weight and size. Using an 11 Pro is more comfortable than the SE with a battery case.

I already downsized this year from XS Max to 11 Pro. If I was not a heavy user I would have switched. With a pop socket the 11 Pro gives me a decent one hand use. But the SE gives me a comfortable one hand use.

I’m switching down from the 11, which is a fantastic phone, but due to an illness which has affected my hand and arm mobility and co-ordination it is uncomfortable to hold.

Looking forward to most of of the great features in the 11, but in a smaller form factor. Might pick up a couple of camera lenses from Amazon for photography, but those are cheap, I’m only taking landscape/travel pictures when out and about.

My biggest concern was camera, but honestly, I mostly take pics and videos of my grandkids, and I rarely use any of the extra features of the camera, so I think I'll be really happy with it.

Just some more X/SE comparisons. You always see the videos where people cycle through and open various apps to show loading speeds. It doesn’t even take but a single app to notice the difference. For example, if I launch ESPN on both the SE and the X, the SE loads and is ready at least 1.5 seconds faster. That may not seem like a big deal, but that’s a very small scale example with no other apps open and launching the same single app.

I think it’s a hard decision for you because you are using a phone that was recently released. I’m coming from the X, so I also noticed the performance gains in day-to-day use. Unless you really want the small form factor, all else is equal in your case.

Keep it. I have a feeling you’ll return the SE like you did the iPad Mini lol

Well, I'm using a mini now. I returned the mini because I had two iPads, which I thought was over the top (and it was for my usage). My granddaughter had a mini though, and was really missing a bigger iPad since her brothers both had them, so I traded her and have a mini 5 now, which I'm loving.

I do think I'll hang onto the 11 until I've used the SE for a few days. It's not gonna take me long to decide if I like the size/screen.

For me it would be price. My wife and I could get a 128 GB SE for about the same price as an 11 pro.
I think a lot of people are justifying how much they like the small form factor, but it comes down to how affordable this phone is. I’m in the same boat, I just can not comfortably text on the SE. I find myself following all these threads, even though I know the SE could never work out for me.

I watched a review online. And he compared the Full brightness of the SE to the iPhone 11 Pro and that alone would be a dealbreaker for me. Something about how dull the SE looked at full brightness would bother me lol

Not at all. I already had the 11 pro max. Then sold it for the SE so obviously cost wasn’t a issue in my case.

Wouldn’t consider it for a second. For the same price range you can get a like brand new 8+ or XR. Don’t get the appeal of this little thing. Different strokes for different folks

ready for change

3.5->4.0->5.5->5.8->6.1

4.7 is the new one for me. I never got tired of playing around with the SE1, even after it stopped being my daily driver after a year or two of on and off use.

The price was right too, and maybe it'll make me less glued to my phone and will weigh me down less in my pocket

Dont hate FaceID but certainly have my gripes with it.. in the car, in bed, wearing a mask now, when its laid on the table.

sometimes the XR feels like I have a Newton in my pocket

We still have an old SE1 kicking around, nearly impossible to text on. Can’t believe I had a 5S for 2 years..

A fraction of users are one hand users. And it takes time to assess the pain induced by stretching your fingers to often. I took me one year to downsize from XS Max to 11 Pro. In was tired. And I yearly upgrade.
This is a shame because this is not a screen size issue but a UX design issue. If you have buttons and menus close enough there would be no problem. You can have a big screen and have interactions located a the right place. Even with the SE I can’t reach every corners with my thumb.

About the keyboard you can swipe on it instead of typing. This works great with small screens.

It would be really nice if you could swap the gestures for reachability and spotlight search. Personally, I would rather swipe down in the middle of the screen for reachability and have spotlight search gesture at the bottom of the screen.

I don’t understand when people say this lol. I’m typing this from my SE1 right now and it’s perfectly fine (I also type a lot on my iPad mini which is also perfectly fine). I’m pretty sure it’s hyperbole but people say it so much that I’m not sure. By the way, this was typed in just a few seconds (of actually typing) and I didn’t have to correct any mistakes. Or maybe I’m special haha.

Not hyperbole. Just very difficult to type cramped on that screen now that I’m not used to it anymore...
