I'm a happy camper right now.....finally decided to check and see if the new Luminar 2018 provides RAW conversion for the Sony RX100 M VI yet, and was more than pleased to discover that it does! I put the camera into RAW, fired off a couple of experimental shots and then took the first image into Luminar to see what would happen, and voila! So that makes me very happy, indeed. Although I was able to do a surprising amount of corrective editing in jpeg it is obviously much better to be able to shoot in RAW and then work with the results of that.....

Well I'm sure she can tell you the next project if you ask her!

You mean like convert the back room into a family room, build a deck, replace the carport with a better more watertight solution, replace the front path, repair the terrazzo steps out the front of the house.....

Yeah we have our list... :)

But I want a MK VI RX100 now....

My wife’s list is uncannily like Ken’s but then my list definitely features an RX100 vi as well. Panamoz also have them in stock now. Hmm...

you aren’t helping... :)

Blame Clix Pix - I asked for thoughts on the camera and they were supposed to come back and say it is rubbish, don't do it! :)

All us current RX100 owners are twitching for an upgrade!

Hee, hee, hee.......!!!! Yep, I'm good at convincing other people to spend their money on goodies such as Apple products and camera gear! In my time, I've converted quite a few people to the Mac and other Apple stuff.....

Seriously, though, guys, this is one heckuva sweet little camera which is very sophisticated and does so much more than any ordinary compact or P&S camera, plus more than its predecessors in the RX100 series! I'll admit that I hesitated for a while when first hearing about the RX100 M6, as after all I'd just bought the M5 last year.....but then kept reading about the greater reach of the zoom (important to me) and about the one-step popup EVF, the faster focusing, the touchscreen/touchpad capability, etc., and couldn't resist preordering it. I'm truly delighted with this camera and more than happy that I have bought it!

Oh, no worries about referring to me as "he" -- it's happened before, as the name "Clix Pix" doesn't really give a hint one way or another.

At the moment I'm planning to keep my M5, but if I find over time that I seriously am not using it at all, always reaching for the M6, then I probably will sell it. I was thinking that I'd like to hang on to it for the wider aperture, the f/1.8-f/2.8 lens, but I have found that the M6 does quite nicely in low light and that the noise level seems to be pretty nicely handled, even when the ISO (which I keep on Auto ISO) is high.

Yup, I have the m3 and will keep that if I do also pick up the m6. It'sa nice combination and also offers some redundancy when on a trip.

Although the user title Demi goddess does give a hint!

Out of stock, @Donka must have bought the last one ;)

Cheers :)

Hugh

Not yet. Bought a Fuji X-T20 and a Sony RX10m4 from them though and had great service so pretty sure I’ll go with them when I do. If you contact them upfront, you can also negotiate a better price.
Got the air show this weekend but might go shopping after that! ;)

I am really happy with the RX100 M6 and her big sister the RX10 M IV, which I purchased a few weeks later...... Between the two of them they have managed to bring the fun back into photography for me! After having more-or-less set photography on the back burner for a few years, I am really enjoying getting back into it now and am loving it!

I have the RX10 iv to supplement the RX100 iii when I need further reach. I prefer the single camera for the occasion as opposed to a larger camera and a selection of lenses - just more practical for casual photography. I use my Fuji for special occasions such as portraits or night photography. The 1” Sony’s really do deliver in suitable lighting.

At the time I preordered and got the RX100 M6 I was already planning to take it on a trip to the beach that was coming up at the end of July. I started thinking about the kinds of things I would most likely be shooting while there and realized that I would want a longer lens than 200mm (equivalent) for some situations, and so pulled out my H90V to experiment with it, since it has longer reach, to 600mm (equiv). I shot around our little lake, especially targeting subjects at a distance, and when I got the images into the computer for scrutiny, quickly realized that for intended purposes this was not going to be satisfactory. The small 1/2-inch sensor just would not be up to the job. I had seen user comments and images about the RX10 M IV and so started looking at reviews and articles more closely, having a hunch that this would be what I needed, especially for this particular occasion. Bought the RX10 M4, took her and the RX100 M6 with me to the weekend trip to the beach and have been very, very happy with the results, which I am still post-processing. I'm loving using the RX10 M4 for walking around my little lake, too, as no matter what strikes my fancy, that incredible lens will zoom in or out as needed and captures the subject.

Some of my images from both cameras can be seen in the Photo of the Day threads for July and August, but I'll toss a few in here, too.....
